Iv'e known Ken since sixth grade when the family moved over by Pierce school. He attended St Matts for four years. He was well liked by all and a good athhlete we were sorry to see him go to Southwestern. We both attended Camp Sancta Maria for one year. I subbed His Free Press route when he broke his leg and I hated it. Loved being
asked to dinner at his house, always some great gourmet leftovers. Served as altar boy at Dennis' wedding. Loved Art's cool cars and later at the Red Rooster with Ken. Sorry that I can't attend the service but I have a board & general meeting in Traverse City. Great to have known you Ken.

Saturday date nights at the Rooster. Ken made it so special {tableside pepper steak with steak Diane sauce} Nothing better!! Ken and Archie made everyone feel at home and comfortable while plying us with the most fantastic food. There no places to compare it to today. Ken was a great guy and I know he will be missed .Our prayers are with Mickey and the family. I bet the angels in heaven are dining well tonight!!

Mickey and family,
We are so sorry for your loss. Ken was a wonderful guy, we were privileged to have known him since middle school years. His cooking was amazing, especially the soups he made for Aunt Marie while she was in hospice. Our thought and prayers are with you.

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Ken. We had our wedding dinner at the Red Rooster 42 years ago. That was the place to go for fine dining. Our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.

Keep his memories alive daily until you meet him again! Although, I frequented the restaurant...my aunt (Helen Venable along with her boyfriend (Dee Paxton)) were regulars there. We have many pictures of them sitting in their special booth!
She spoke so highly of he and his folks. She loved the food and drinks. Not sure she realized how hard you folks worked. The restaurant opened the year I was born. Blessings to you and your family during this difficult time.

John Adams, Ronnie Black, Bill Sander, Jeff Mitchell and myself were the PGA Tour pros who stayed with Ken and Micky. They opened their house, restaurant, and more importantly, their arms in welcoming and hosting us the week of the Buick Championship. They treated us like family and we had wonderful times together.
The fridge was always stocked full of gourmet food, as was the Rooster, and both Ken and Micky made sure a moment never went by where we weren't stuffed. They came to tournament and lended heart felt support, shared in our good play and were there for us when we faltered. I can still hear "Where the hell's Mitch?", "John needs a hole in one" and more booming from the basement where the Macaw lived.
Ken had a zest for life, in addition to food, and a smile on his face. He loved telling stories and sharing great times. We will certainly miss him.
With love and sympathy

We are very sorry to learn of Ken's passing. Our sympathies go out to all his family and friends.
The Red Rooster was our favorite restaurant, and although the food was delicious, the service we always received was by far the best part. Ken had a unique way of making customers feel welcome, we loved it when he was able to take a few minutes to say hello (and also when he provided table side service). May he rest in peace.

We were next door neighbors to Ken and Micky for 21 years and we have so many fond memories with Ken of great talks on the porch or at the fence. He always offered a cold beverage to enjoy and I often think of Ken when I smell a cigar. We will miss you Ken. We pray for Micky and the rest of the family during this time of loss. God bless.

Kenny was a great friend for over 40 years. We had many fun times together. I shared a special bond with Ken as we had so many common interests. Going to old Tiger Stadium with Ken and his father in law and friends were times I will always cherish. His restaurant was the crown jewel of Flint. No one else in the area came close to the quality of both food and service that the Rooster provided. Kenny was a special guy and I will hold him in my heart forever. God bless Mikey and his entire circle of family and friends.
