Rolland R. Rossiter, age 74, of Spring Valley, passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at his home.
He was born Dec. 19, 1934, in the Township of Red Cedar, Dunn County, to Robert and Sarah (Cook) Rosseter. He married Betty Taylor on March 12, 1955, in Menomonie.
Rolland is survived by his wife, Betty of Spring Valley; his children, Debbie (Les) Hearne of Eau Claire, Darlene (Stephen) Frey of Menomonie, Ronald Rossiter of Spring Valley and Linda (Ed) Studtmann of Long Creek, Ore.; grandchildren, Robert, Christianna and Katharine Hearne; Chris Hanson, Amy (Mitch) Connors, Christopher Frey, Danica (Jevon) Rich; and Phil, Josh, Amos, Isaac and Sam Studtmann; great-grandchildren, Cali and Karina Rich; honorary children, Gina Pritchard, Christy (Dan) Rabitoy, Nan Hanson and Jackie Eisenhuth; honorary grandchildren, Raven and Krista Hall; Hannah Pritchard, Danielle Swartz, Emilie, Butch, Belle and Henry Rabitoy; sisters, Louise McQuiston of Forest Lake, Ariz. and Mary (Don) Knuth of Minot, N.D.; and sister-in-law Erna Rosseter Sorensen of Menomonie. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Delbert Rosseter; and sisters, Hazel Hulbert, Ethel Gregory, Margie McQuiston, Beatrice Rosseter, Alice Acheson, Myrtle Eisenhuth and Mabel Dohms.
A memorial/celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at the Gospel Mission Baptist Church in Knapp, with Pastor LeRoy Nelson officiating. There will be an informal gathering at the church one hour prior to the service.
