Kenneth George Marin, resident of the Bronx and Las Vegas
February 13, 1930 - February 20, 2021
Born to Joseph and Antoinette Marin (deceased)
Sister Ann Staugaitis (d), brother, Joseph Marin (d), brother, James Marin (d),
Survived by wife Elaine Marin, daughters Linda Faughnan, son-in law Owen Faughnan (d), Susan Vitello, son-in-law Paul Vitello, and Ellen Marin, grandchildren Christopher Faughnan, Jennifer Faughnan, Elizabeth Faughnan and Danielle Franco.
Also survived by brother, Richard Marin, sister-in-law Jeanne Marin, sister-in-law Janet Rizzuto, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was the youngest of five children and grew up in the Castle Hill section of the Bronx. He attended Holy Family Parochial school and then Cardinal Hayes High School. He joined the Navy in 1951 and married his wife Elaine that same year. In 1955, he welcomed his first daughter Linda and then his second daughter Susan in 1956. In 1962, his third daughter Ellen was born. Kenneth worked for the City of New York, Department of Finance and also for the Girl Scouts. He enjoyed horse racing, football, golf and baseball, which were weekend staples on television. When he retired, he and Elaine started to enjoy traveling, including many trips to Atlantic City and then Las Vegas. They ultimately made Las Vegas their home and loved everything about it especially the casinos.
Kenneth volunteered a lot of his time working at soup kitchens in New York City and on Thanksgiving he would be helping those in need. Kenneth was a great giver to charitable causes so in lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in Kenneth's memory to:
Las Vegas Rescue Mission
or
Mercy Ships

My deepest sympathy to cousins Linda, Susan and Ellen along with Kenneth's grandchildren. He was not only my uncle but my Godfather as well. Even though we have been separated by time and distance he will remain ever present in my memory. Rest in Peace Uncle Kenneth

I would like to send my sincere condolences to my cousins Linda, Susan and Ellen on the passing of their Dad.
I have fond memories from many years past coming for visits to The Bronx to spend time with all of you. As a child I used to think Uncle Kenneth and my father were twin brothers !! I recall Uncle Kenneth sitting in his easy chair and the big picture window. Rest In Peace Uncle Kenneth.

To us, Kenneth was the quiet, most thoughtful, giving and unassuming person whom I was lucky enough to have as a brother. He was the little "tag-a-long" who somehow fit in with the "big" guys and became part of the "Turnbull Aces." Born the size of a potato he beat the odds and lived a long life. Our love & prayers will always be with you and you will always be in the Winners Circle. Rich & Jean Marin+
