Kenneth Maye Obituary
Groton - Kenneth R. Maye Sr., 83 died May 4, 2018 at his home after a short illness.
Born May 8, 1934 in Endicott, NY, he was the son of the late John J. and Florita McRorie Maye.
Having been in the Groton area for over 50 years, he had been employed with Smith Corona for 20 years , followed by employment with Cornell for 15 years until he retired.
Ken enjoyed drumming in his younger years and could belt out a song with the best of them. He enjoyed cooking as well as puzzles and surfing on his computer.
He is survived by his children, Kenneth (Darlene) Maye Jr of Arcadia FL., Florita (Rita) Moffitt, Alice (Ed Horner) Turner & Patricia (Martin) Miller all of Groton. He has 11 grandchildren & several great grandchildren as well as several nieces & nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Lois in 2008 and a son, Arthur "Booner" Maye in 2012 and siblings.
The family will have a celebration of his life on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Groton Senior Housing Community room with Pastor Sharon Newman officiating. Burial will be in the Groton Rural Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Groton Fire Dept. Ambulance Fund or to Hospicare. Condolences may be made to Ken's guest book at www.zirbelfuneralhome.com Zirbel Funeral Home 115 Williams St., Groton has care of arrangements.

My heart goes out to his family! He was a terrific man and will be missed! I had many a karaoke night with him and always enjoyed his company. He was a very gentle soul and very fun! RIP!
