Sorry to hear of Cousin Ken's passing. We just got word from Aunt Joann.
We never met you Angela. We had hoped to see Ken at this year's family reunion in Minerva,Ohio; as per my E-mail last fall. Hope to see you there if possible, Angela.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you on the passing of cousin Kenny. We just learned of your loss today. Although I had only met him two or three times, he was always spoken of so highly by our family. He was a sincere and dedicated educator as was my father, Nick. As the bird flies free in the sky, the soul soars freely in heaven.

Your dad was one of the kindest men I have known. He loved you so much and spoke of you all the time. He cared deeply for all children and taught me so much about being a great leader and inspiration to teachers and children. I will always be grateful to him for all he did for me. He was a great man I am sorry I missed the services I just found out about his passing. My prayers are with you and your family.

I am so sad to hear of Ken's passing. I am out of town until Friday, but hope to be able to touch base with you when I return. I don't have to tell you what a lasting difference he made to so many young people over his long career. His courage and his compassion has enriched lives, mine included. My deepest sympathy for your loss.

Dear Angela, I am so sorry for your loss. I know this is a sad time for you. Your Mom & Dad were special friends to me as they served
as faithful and dedicated volunteers in the Church Library at Hickory Grove Baptist. We still miss them. Just know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I love you.

Tonight I learned and was saddened about the news about Mr. Kenneth Mazzaferro's death. For several years, I have tried to make contact him. Some had indicated that he had moved from the area. Former students from time to time have called me asking had I heard from their beloved, Mr. Mazz. I frequently run into students who ask me about Mr. Mazz. He was an educator who truly made the difference in the lives of students. Time after time he gave students a second chance to modify their behavior and make good of their dreams. Together we spent hours counseling and developing individual educational plans unique to the needs of the students. We worked together as a team, often working as good cop and bad cop. He would sometime play the role of bad cop telling students who needed an extra push that he was going to put them out of the school. I would play the role of good cop and beg him to give them one more chance. He would assign the fate of students to me as their last chance. As a team we were tremendously successful with the students.

Some of our students were in dire human dilemmas. We partnered to work to develop resources to help them and allow them to continue their education.

One of our students has his Ph.D (doctorate degree) and is now working in a major University. Others are working in lawyers offices, in Charlotte Mecklenburg and other school systems, and in a wide variety of occupations all due to Midwood High School tailoring a program geared to the needs of students

Mazzaferro, was a think out of the box educator. He successfully administered a mastery learning program at Midwood High School that matched the needs of traditional and non traditional students. We had various methods students could to demonstrate mastery that included a portfolio program that brought community leaders, parents and educator into the school to review student accomplishments. Midwood High School was a tremendously successful dropout prevention program under Mr. Mazzaferro's leadership.

Mr. Mazzaferro, was loved by his staff and former students. Parents were heavily involved in Midwood High and they took part in the ownership of student success. Kenneth Mazzerferro, was a great human being who has helped thousands of students to graduate and make meaningful contributions to society. Midwood High School was an education program that worked.

It was an honor and privilege to have known and worked with him, my deepest condolences to you Angelia and his family.

Education Success was his business
He will never die; he has achieved eternal life through the many lives he has touched.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I worked with Ken for many in CMS. He was a true professional and a great friend.

I dont have words that are fluent out of my mought or brain, I still in shot, and you know Ken Mazaferro, you will be in our heart and mind forever and ever. Me and Hank used to be talking at the phone minimum once a week, remembering all the breakfast guys mornings time, jajajaj and at night Doris dinner and you used to said I made him eat things that he never did in entery life, some time you like, love but others went directly to your babies doggies bowls and enjoy and playing with your other big love, your dogs Samantha and Bear...I think they are the most sad animals-kids because I know they are suffering for losing their daddy Kent, and you know that more than anything .They were 24 hrs with him, So dearAngela, for your father memories, I Hope you will keep his babies bringing all the love that he will doing...

We're so sorry to hear of Mr. Mazzaferro's passing. We enjoyed talking to him after the 8:30 service on Sunday mornings at church.

Angela, Your dad was my 8th grade science teacher over forty years ago at Spaugh Junior High. He was an excellent teacher and a remarkable man.

I worked with your mother at Albemarle Road Middle. My prayers are with you. So sorry for your loss.

Angela, I remember when you were born. Your father was so proud. He and your mother were delightful to work with. Ken loved his job as Asst. Principal at Spaugh. He was fair, honest, and an excellent educator. I remember them having the staff over for a cookout. We really enjoyed ourselves. He will truly be missed by those who worked with him and knew him. By the way, he loved his church. Please accept my condolences. God be with you.

Angela, I am thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers. I hope that, in the coming days, you take comfort in the wonderful memories that you have of your dad and know he will be with you in your heart forever.

Mr. Mazzaferro was my science teacher at Spaugh Jr. High in Charlotte in 1970. He put me in my place right quickly and advised me what it absolutely would require in order for me to pass my grade. I listened and made it to grade nine. He laid it on the line. He loved it when you thought for yourself and used creativity. For being that man I will be grateful to him as I have been.

Mr. Mazzaferro was an inspiration to me and many more students that had the honor of learning from him. He sparked my interest in science which led to my undergraduate degree in Biology. And directly influenced my lifetime career on Quality Assurance. My condolences to his family. He was a great man.

I worked with your Father and Mother at Spaugh Middle School for many years. Your dad was so proud of you and spoke of you often. You were the joy of his life! He will be missed...

Ken and I worked and played together for many years. During this time we became "forever" friends. I shall always keep my memories of him close to my heart. No one could have asked for a better friend.

Ken was a great guy who loved his family and his Cadillacs. I worked with him in CMS for many years and have good memories of our time together. My sympathies.

Angela, I am deeply sorry for the loss of your best friend and daddy. He was so very proud of you and some of you with joy. I know all too well the pain you are feeling and nothing anyone says can make it stop. I will be praying for you. Please let me know if you need a thing.

I really enjoyed working with Ken at CMS. He was a real gentleman.

My condolences to Ken's family and friends. I got to know Ken through our mutual neighbors, Doris & Hank Courey. A kind man who will be missed in the neighborhood.

Angela, Your father was very proud of you. He always spoke of you when he came to the shop. What a good daughter you were and how you took so very good care of him.. He came to the shop to be my body guard many times and always ready to help when needed. I'm not sure who was guarding who. I think we both needed someone to guard us. He was a kind and gentle man.
