Kenneth Ray Minton Kenneth Ray Minton, 84, Bluff City, passed away Friday, October 4, 2013, in the Bristol Regional Medical Center. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Roscoe H. and Minnie V. Blevins Minton. He was a retired Diesel Mechanic. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the NRC. Mr. Minton was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Howard Smith; four Brothers; and two sisters. He was a member of the Brookside Baptist Church, Bristol. Survivors include five sons, Daniel R. Minton and wife Sandy, and James G. Minton, all of Bluff City, Bobby P. Minton and wife Gena, of Watauga, Paul D. Minton and wife Stephanie, and David M. Davis, all of Elizabethton; one sister, Faye Lovelace; 13 grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, October 7, 2013, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mike Nixon officiating. Honorary Ministers will be the Rev. Sam Richards and the Rev. Frank Cornelius. Graveside service and interment will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2013, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Music will be provided by the Minton Family. Pallbearers will be his sons. Military Honors will be provided by the US Navy. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday, October 7, 2013, in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of a son, Daniel R. Minton, Bluff City. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2013, to go to the cemetery.
