We knew Ken from the Evangelical Free Church, meeting in the early 1970's. He was a quiet, but knowledgable man, knowing the Lord Jesus Christ. We are sorry we were unable to attend the memorial service. May you find comfort and peace in the Lord in this difficult time.

What a flood of memories came with the obituary read on-line that Ken Monahan had passed on!
The family lived on the corner of Gordon Lane and 45th South when we became acquainted. While serving as bishop of the huge Millcreek 2nd Ward, some one told me that the Monahans had a problem and that Sandra Kay was diagnosed with Leukemia. Being young and inexperienced I was probably not able to offer much help and comfort before she died soon after. My really fond recollection was going with Ken to Elysian Burial Gardens to pick out a spot where she may be laid to rest. It was under a tree at that time - a really peaceful place for her. His judgement and love for this child really showed through!
The family moved soon after and we lost touch even with Carl for whom we had great adoration.
Subsequently when 7th East was widened and the State of Utah purchased our home and some of the lot we moved to the Brookwood Subdivision, just three lots from that cemetery. For the 43 years were there before receiving this call to Hawaii, I visited her grave at least twice a year and often added flowers. When we return to Salt Lake in two more years, I will visit it again.
Our deepest sympathy to Thora and all of the children. You were fortunate to have a loving husband and father and we pray for your comfort and well being.
