Kenneth Albert Pongracz

Kenneth Albert Pongracz passed peacefully on January 22, 2024, at the age of 81 in Morehead City, North Carolina with his daughter and son-in-law at his bedside. Born on September 9, 1942, in Lorain, Ohio, Ken was a beloved father, brother, and grandfather.

Ken is survived by his daughter Laura Sexstella (Charles), grandsons Spencer and Perry of Avon Lake, sister Rosemary Pincura of Lorain and several nieces and nephews. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Gabor and Ethel Pongracz.

In his career, Ken dedicated many years to working for US Steel before retiring. Soon after, he picked up to follow his dream of living near the ocean and moved to Beaufort, NC.

When Ken wasn't working, he enjoyed grabbing a burger and a beer at his favorite waterfront restaurant, visiting with the neighborhood dogs, and sunbathing in the driveway. These simple pleasures brought him great joy and relaxation.

Ken most loved his lovely Beaufort home, the southern sun, his own personal "happy hour," his cat Eva and his grandsons. He had a vibrant personality and a zest for life.

In accordance with Ken's wishes, he will be cremated with a private memorial to take place at a later date.

Ken will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
