Kenneth PURDIE Obituary
September 27, 1927 – October 12, 2015
The family of Ken Purdie sadly announce the passing of their father, grandfather, uncle and great-grandfather. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by family after a brief illness.
Ken was predeceased by his wife and high school sweetheart Gerry Purdie and his daughter Sandra Lynn Gibb (Robert).
He is remembered with love by his children: Carol Lee Jamieson (Ross), Kenneth Andrew Purdie (Mary), Drew-Ann Hiller (Mitch); three grandchildren: Brandy Gibb, Robert Gibb (Jr), Jesse Coleman (Lauren Hacking); one great- grandchild Robert Marcus Gibb; special niece Cheryl Alden (John) and devoted friend Kathleen Sargalis.
Gratitude extended to Dr. Ian Patterson, Dr. Michael Hancock and the teams from AHS Home Care.
As per Ken's request there will be no funeral. In his honour a remembrance will be held in early November for his extended family and many good friends, details to follow.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute or the Cross Cancer Institute.

I was sadden to learn of the loss of both Ken and that Sandy had also recently died.
I remember water skiing at both Alberta Beach & West Cove. The boat Ken had built was a great ski boat pulling Carol, Sandy, Al & Johnny Lover, Doug Dennis, etc.

Sincere condolences to the family. Ken's great lively spirit will be missed. I still fondly remember the trip in the Purdie suburban (many moons ago) to Bonnyville to pick up our new car, with my mum, Sylvia Dickson. So sorry for your loss. Sue Allen
