RICHARDS, Kenneth Harry
WWII Veteran Passed away peacefully on November 2, 2014 at the age of 88 years with his loving family by his side. Beloved husband and best friend of 48 years to Barbara (nee Dawson). Son of the late Harry (1944) and Blanche (1980) Richards. Dearest father of Lynne (Toots) Diotte-Wirth (Peter 2004), Karen Borg (Frank) of LaSalle, Kris Richards (Clive Bradfield) of Windsor and Jerrie Ferguson (Dean) of Trenton. Cherished grandfather of Kari Meloche (Joel Enns) of Leamington, Steven Borg (Lisa) of London, Leslie MacEachern (Mike) of Windsor, Corporal Jerrid Ferguson (Sabrina) of Trenton. Loving great-grandfather of Ashely Wirth, Noah Meloche, Natalie Meloche, Autumn Ferguson, Connor Borg and Justin Borg. Dear brother of Lorraine Robinson of Kingsville, the late Harold and Norman Richards. Brother-in-law of Malcolm (Warren) Dawson (Libby 2004) of Nova Scotia. Also survived by nieces, nephews and friends. Ken served 2 years in WWII as a D.E.M.S. gunner in R.C.N.V.R. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Naval Assoc. (D.E.M.S. Division) and the Royal Canadian Legion Br. # 594 since 1973. Ken was a dedicated blood donor with 140 pints to his credit. Ken retired from G.M. Transmission after 35 years of service and a member of CAW Local 1973. Ken will be sadly missed. If you so desire, donations to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Kidney Dialysis Unit-Ouellette Campus would be appreciated by the family. Visiting Wednesday from 3 - 5 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. Family and friends are invited to meet at the funeral home Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until time of service under the auspices of the Windsor Veteran's Memorial Service Committee at 11:30 a.m. at

I was just talking to the 2 of you in the summer in the parking lot at Hotel Dieu, Ken going for dialysis. I was shocked to hear Ken had passed. Sor very sorry, my condolences to you Barb and your family.
