Peacefully and unexpectedly, on Thursday May 8, 2014 at the age of 71. Dearly beloved husband of Dianne, for over 46 years. Devoted father of Stephen (Megan) and Shannon (Kaya). Cherished grandpa to Maelyn, Drew, Mateo, and Maddie. Dear son- in-law of Roy and Dorothy Vardy. Loving brother-in-law of Bill Vardy (Nadine). Beloved son of the late Alexander and the late Doreen Ross. Valued friend and neighbour to many. A Celebration of Ken's life will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday at 1pm. Dear Dianne,
I remember how you comforted me, many years ago, at a very sad moment–my heart was aching and you gave me hug and said “this too shall pass”. The ache did pass and wonderful memories still live on. I think of you and your kind words so often, and although I can't hug you right now, perhaps these words will help you as much as they did me, “this too shall pass”.

dear Diane & Family, We offer our condolences and our sympathies to you and your family. I worked with Ken in S&I in the late 60's when you folks came to Ottawa. I always held Ken in high esteem. God Bless You. Minnie & Koozma (Joe) Gorkoff, Delta, B.C.

I am so very sorry to hear of Ken's passing. I worked with Ken in the 1980's in 'A' Division. He was an inspiring and principled man who lead by example. Ken made a strong contribution to Canada's national security for which all Canadians owe a debt of gratitude. My deepest condolences to Ken's family.

My deepest sympathies to the Ross family on the passing of Ken. I enjoyed working with Ken in "A" Division / Ottawa Region in the 70's & 80's. A fine man who served Canada with pride, effect & distinction. He made a difference and he will be missed….
