Kenneth Schweitzer Westminster, CO - Ken Schweitzer at age 66 passsed away on 12/29/2022 in his home. He graduated

from Iowa City West High May of 1974 and married Joanne Wolf in July of 1981. While raising a family he went to Kirkwood Community College and obtained an

Associate Degree in August of 1993. With his daughter Katie they would umpire High School softball games and referee volleyball matches together. He was an excellant cook and compared recipes with his daughter Christina. He enjoyed playing recreational basketball and softball with his daughters and being a spectator. Ken had many talents from sports and cooking to being involved with family playing guitar and traveling. He went back to school and became a Bachelor of Science degree nurse from the University of Iowa in May of 2017. He was preceded in death by his Mother Marilyn Manley and stepmother Donna Schweitzer. He is survived by his wife Joanne Wolf Schweitzer of 41 years, his father Williard Schweitzer, sister Karen Schweitzer and two daughters Christina McGhghy (Dave) and Katie Schweitzer. Survived by a stepbrother Tim Pounds and two stepsisters Becky Wegner and Nancy Pounds. Ken had multiple friends, colleagues and family members who loved him dearly. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am January 28, 2023 at the First Mennonite Church, 405 Myrtle Ave, Iowa City, Iowa52246. A light lunch to follow.
