Kenneth Stark Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 16, 2025.
Kenneth Eugene "Kenny" Stark, 66, passed away peacefully at his home in Spencerville, Indiana, on June 16, 2025, surrounded by loved ones during his time on hospice care.

Born on October 19, 1958, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Kenny grew up in New Haven and graduated from New Haven High School. Over the years, he worked in various roles but found his calling as a welder with Nucor, where he dedicated much of his professional life.

Kenny shared 44 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Rebecca Wallace Stark. Together they raised two children: Jennifer (Jason) Richards and Jacob (Colby) Stark. He was a proud Pappy to Dasia and Kylee Richards and Conrad Stark.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Kenny had a deep love for the outdoors and spent countless hours fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed playing Texas Hold'em and cherished quiet moments under the tree in his hammock swing, sharing stories and laughter with friends and family. In July of 2024, Kenny made a profound spiritual commitment by surrendering his life to Jesus and being baptized.

A private service for immediate family will be held, with a gathering of family and friends planned for a later date to celebrate Kenny's life.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.

It sometimes feels like it was just yesterday that we were kids at our Knapp family reunions. The years slipped away and we lost contact, as families sometimes do. But the bonds and love are still there. Rest in peace dear cousin.

It is with great sadness that we learned of your passing. All too soon you were taken away from your family, those that need you the most. Over the years as our families grew and moved on we communicated less. It wasn't because of bad feelings, it seems way too often it is evolving into a way of life. Family reunions, an old tradition, are slowly fading out of the picture and the only time families 'sometimes' get together are at weddings or funerals. Kenny, I remember you as a energetic, family oriented, fun loving, witty, outdoorsman. Though we hadn't seen one another for a couple years, didn't mean we had forgotten you and your smile. Rest in peace dear nephew. You will be missed. Uncle Bill & Aunt Sandy.

One of my biggest memories of Ken was his memory of names of songs from the 50´s, 60´s, 70´s and 80´s. He not only could tell you the name of the song but who actually sang it!! Nobody did that better than Ken Stark! You will be missed Ken! Judy Kulp

Overjoyed that he commented his life to Jesus! He was a student when I taught at New Haven High School and my husband and I watched him play basketball in the old gym. My husband also worked with him at Nucor. Praying for your family.
