Kenneth Troyer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 26, 2021.
Kenneth D. Troyer

age 61, passed away at Aultman Hospital on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021 following a brief illness. He was born on Feb. 20, 1959 to the late Richard and Delores Troyer. He graduated from Highland High School in 1977. While in high school, Ken began his career at Troyer's Trail Bologna, Inc. located in Trail/Dundee, Ohio. His entire career was devoted to the family business which started in 1912 by his great-great-grandfather, Michael Troyer. Ken was very proud to have been the fourth generation and to serve as president of the company for over forty years. Ken was an avid, as well as an excellent golfer. His time spent on the golf course with his "golf buddies" and many friends brought him great joy. His golf memberships include Glenmoor Country Club, Brookside Country Club, Wyndemere Country Club, Naples, Fla., and was a former member of Union Country Club of Dover, Ohio. He was a professional bowler in his younger years and bowled many "300" games. He will be remembered by his friends and co-workers as "a man with a big heart".

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Lloyd and Minerva Troyer and Robert and Elizabeth Bachman. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cricket Scheurer Troyer and stepson, John S. Russell IV of the home; son, Jason Troyer of Kent; siblings, Darren Troyer of Dover, Brenda (Thomas) Mueller, Kevin (Susan Mueller) Troyer; nieces, Kelsey Mueller and Jocelyn Troyer and nephew, Justin Troyer all of Sugarcreek; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Judy Scheurer of Canton and sister-in-law, Leslie (Diedreich) Von Lehe of Charleston, S.C.

In accordance with Ken's wishes, cremation will take place and a private service will be held for the family. As Ken was gracious and giving in life, he continued to give even after death. He was able to help many people by becoming an organ donor. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society or Aultman Foundation.
