Dear Auntie Ann, David, Wendy, Patrick and Natalie:
Although we are not able to be with at this time, know that our love and thoughts are with you.
As a child, my fondest memories of Uncle Ken are of course in the boat on the river. The number of times he took us fishing,...the most memorable is when Luann, Ken and I convinced Uncle Ken to stay out a little longer and of course darkness came.....To navigate to shore, he was trying to follow the lights. Unfortunately, we were following the lights of the boom and BOOM!, we ended up driving over the boom wall! Well it was so dark the only way out of the boom was to go back over it the same way in. Well, Uncle Ken kept his cool, although I'm sure inside he was panicking! Obviously, he got us back to shore safe and sound. We never asked to stay a little longer again (well, if we did, he didn't give in!). My other memories of course are boiled dinners, corn roasts, campfires and Uncle Leo's fiddling.
Auntie Ann, I am glad that I was able to introduce Michael and Jason to you this past summer. I am happy for the time we were able to visit again.
Be happy knowing that Uncle Ken has left good memories with many.
Love always,
Elise, Dan, Michael and Jason

Dear Aunt Anne, David and Family,
sorry we can not be there to support you in this time of sorrow at the passing of Uncle Ken. I have many pleasant childhood memories from the summers spent at Grandview of Uncle Ken,taking me water skiing, fishing, and to the log booms to swim. One particular memory, I have never forgotten was an evening that Uncle Ken had taken a bunch of the kids fishing and it had gotten dark. Upon return to camp , with the water being dark it appeared as if the river had become wavy, and a big wave was approaching the boat ahead, so we all prepared for a big splash but it wasn't a wave at all,but A big boom log. UP AND OVER THE BOOM WE WENT. After the initial screaming ,we all started to laugh, as Uncle Ken said 'Don"t worry, I"ll get us out", After several attempts to find an opening, the only apparent way out was the way the boat got in, up and over the huge boom log. Again after much squelling, Uncle Ken drove the boat up and over the boom and safely to shore from one of the many nights that he took the kids fishin'. I share in your sadness of his passing and will treasure the memories. LOVE Annie LU (LUANN and family) XOXO
