NIELSEN, Kent June 29, 1960 - April 2, 2011 Kent left peacefully to be with his Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, April 2, 2011, surrounded by his family. He was the sunshine of our family and will be sorely missed by his father Arne (Valerie), brothers Allan (Margaret), Brian, Robin, Garry (Catherine), Paul ""Bebe"" (Jan), Aksel, Harry, sister Dianne, and nieces and nephews Erik, Dana, Leigh, and Troy. He was predeceased by his mother, Evelyn in 1975. Kent grew up in Denver, Houston and Calgary. From the beginning, Kent was faced with and overcame many health challenges. Despite being a paraplegic he attended public schools and the University of Calgary. He traveled all over North America, being carried down trails and up mountainsides by his family. He loved reading, particularly in the areas of History and Religion. His love of History took him on many adventures with various family members to U.S. Civil War battlefields and Europe. Kent loved Jesus and enjoyed fellowship with many Christian friends at his church and on-line. He had a sweet spirit and was very tolerant, easy-going, accepting, forgiving, generous and loving. He enjoyed all aspects of a good life. Though we will miss him, he was always looking forward to Heaven. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at LEYDEN"S FUNERAL HOME (corner of 17 Avenue and 2 Street S.W.). Following the reception, a Graveside Committal will be held at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
