Kent Stoaks Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 3 to Mar. 4, 2023.
Kent Duval Stoaks was called home to be with Jesus on February 13, 2023. He was born in Norman, Oklahoma on August 5, 1960 to Dr. Ralph D. Stoaks (entomology) and Roberta J. Stoaks (who passed away in September 2016). Kent was an exemplary son who loved and honored his parents in all his ways. He is survived by his father, Ralph Stoaks and his wife Carolyn of Fort Collins, Colorado, his aunt, Joy Duval of Naples, Florida, his loving wife, Lori Stoaks of Midland, TX, and many friends. He attended high school in Des Moines, Iowa and played the saxophone in their large marching band. He went on to graduate from Central High School in San Angelo, Texas. Kent later moved to Midland, Texas and attended Midland College. He earned his certification in computer programming and an associate degree in Applied Sciences while there. Kent was also a computer lab assistant and taught COBOL and Fortran to other students at Midland College. He also took courses at the University of Texas Permian Basin in discrete statistics and business computing. Kent worked in software development to assist oil well logging companies and was the database administrator for Enertia Software from 1994-2016. Kent was a member of Grace Community Fellowship of Midland. He had a love for God, nature, camping, music, animals and a thirst for knowledge. He had a great sense of humor and the size of his heart was unmatched in this world. He loved others unconditionally and forgave easily. He loved others with the love of Christ. That is truly his greatest legacy. A memorial service will be held at One Hope Church of Christ, 2503 W. Ohio in Midland at 10 a.m. on March 11, 2023. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation in Kent's name to either of the following organizations: Grace Community Fellowship Of Midland @ https://givebutter.com/Stoaks or www.2cor6.org/kentstoaks.

Lori you have suffered such a great loss but you can find peace and comfort that you cared for him out of your deep love for him. God gave you the strength and courage you need then. I´m confident that He is now. Allow yourself to grieve. I only knew him from your posts and enjoyed some of your camping adventures thru pictures. His smile was contagious and you could tell he had such joy in his heart. I will miss seeing your posture posts of him
