Kery was a great person and a a great reporter. During his senior year of high school (1983-84) he published more than two dozen stories as part of a reporting team at New Youth Connections, which circulated 75,000 copies through the NYC public high schools. I've attached a photo of him on the phone with a source from 1983, plus his first two published stories. One was on how to increase your SAT score (something Kery did not need), and the second on political activism, which prefigured much of his writing career.

Very sad to learn of Kery´s passing. I enjoyed his lay back style and his wit while he covered Olympus when I served in the Senate. Very sad.

Kerry wrote an article about some close family friends and their restaurant back in 2006. It's a wonderful snapshot of a time I was too young to remember. I'm sad to see he's passed.
