Kevin Scott Ferguson of Knoxville died September 8, 2024, at home, surrounded by his family. Scott was born to Ralph and Christine Ferguson on October 4,1962 in Jackson, Mississippi. He spent most of his youth and early adulthood in Jackson. At age 19, he joined the U.S. Navy and served four years. After his military service, he returned to Mississippi where he met and married his wife, Debbie, in1985. He later studied at the University of Mississippi Medical Center to become a registered nurse. In 2001, he and Debbie and their three children moved to Knoxville, Tennessee where he continued his career as a nurse. He worked at Knoxville area hospitals from 2001 until he concluded his career at Peninsula Hospital when he was diagnosed with LBD (Lewy Body Dementia) in 2022.

Scott loved the mountains, fishing, watching football, and grilling out with his family. He loved being a husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Scott was preceded in death by Ralph and Christine Ferguson (Parents), and Terrance Purdom (son).

Scott leaves behind his beloved wife of 39 years, Debbie, his children (Kevin Ferguson, Nicole (Michael) Clack, Amber (Bryan) Talley, and Christopher Ferguson), all of Knoxville. His siblings, brother Ralph Rocky (Terri) Ferguson of Alexandria, Louisiana and sisters Lori Ferguson, Lisa Ferguson, Kristy (Tabitha) Ferguson and Suzanne Ferguson, all of Jackson, MS. His grandchildren Keaira (Peter) Hebda, Isaiah (Kristiana) Dickson, and three great grandchildren, Asher Terrance, Wayde Scott, and Colton Jax. His longtime childhood best friend, Paul Gillis of Jackson, MS.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in Scott's name be made to The Cole Center for Parkinson's and Movement Disorders (1975 Town Center Blvd, Knoxville TN 37922). The family wishes to thank the staff at Cole Center for their care and concern for Scott during his illness and extend their sincere thanks to the hospice staff, including the chaplain, for guiding them through the last stages of Scott's life.

A private family celebration of life will be held at the home of Scott and Debbie.

I didn´t know Scott long but one thing I can confidently say is he had soo much love for my son Asher, his great-grandson. I loved coming up every morning and seeing both of their faces light up when they saw each other.

I only met him one time, he was super sweet and friendly. I don't remember much, I just remember how sweet he was and how soft spoken he was. I pray that everyone in his family and close friends circle gets to grieve him properly; and heal quickly. He was so very loved by so many. R.I.P. You'll be forever remembered

When I started working for his son Christopher I was greeted so openly and loved by Scott and his family. My heart aches to see this today and my deepest condolences to him his wife Debbie and all the children. I was so blessed to be able to be on their lives for 3 years and I will truly miss his laugh smile and his love of life. I will keep you all in my prayers.
