It´s been impossible to quantify or think of an adequate message that fully captures the essence of Kevin and the love we have for him-he was an active participant in so many lives, from his immediate family to extended family and friends.

We had a special friendship as siblings and friends. I cherish the scores of deep conversations we shared over the years, the laughs, and an understanding that comes from a shared childhood. Kevin made a point of expressing his love and support even most recently in my own life. Kevin often joined me for lunch (over a sandwich at home or his favorite, Great Castle!) where we talked about life, family, and solved the world´s problems. During one of our last visits, he stopped me in the parking lot at Great Castle, with tears in his eyes, and told me he had something serious to talk to me about. He expressed sadness and regret over something he had advised me during my divorce-as he often reflected on his own responsibility as a Christian and family leader to be fair, and a good example to others. He lived his faith and it showed in all of his interactions-with family or friend. He was one of a kind and he will be missed every day for the rest of my life. May we each honor Kevin by living a Life that makes Him proud.

Kevin was the most amazing, every time I interacted with him. He and I have worked on and off but always has been kind, a pleasure to work with, considerate, patient. Lots of love and strength to the family and loved ones. Missing you, Kevin! My Bakersfield visits are going to be different, very different.

Kevin was the nicest guy I've ever known. I had the pleasure of seeing him start his career at Chevron and got to watch him grow and progress over the years. Him and I shared a love for humor and jokes. One of his favorite jokes was when he tricked me with a photocopy of his work badge, to make me think I had caught him breaking the rules. Kevin was hard working, honest to a fault, kind and full of joy. I am grateful to have known him and called him a friend. He will be missed.

Dear Shannan and the Howze Family,

As someone who knew Kevin as a coworker and friend most of his time here at Chevron, I offer my deepest condolences to his family and all who know and love him. I can only imagine how the loss of such a wonderful person is affecting his family and close friends.

Kevin has many coworkers at Chevron who became caring friends and some of us thought of him as family. Kevin managed our PCN server hosting environment. He was considered the resident subject matter expert in several areas of technology. The entire team looked to him for assistance and guidance. He was well respected for his positive attitude and contributions toward our goals. Kevin had a wonderful way of conducting himself with respect for others, always remaining humble, never putting anyone´s thoughts or opinions down. He always gave time for others to speak and would listen thoughtfully before giving his response.

I had many opportunities to admire Kevin on different levels, both professionally and personally. Most workdays a few of us would make time to catch up, either at lunchtime or at the end of the day. Frequently, he would genuinely ask if we had any plans for the evening or weekend, sharing his excitement for what was on the menu for dinner that night or what he was looking forward to that weekend. He spoke of family daily. It might have been what family outing or get together was coming up or what he ate at his mom´s house as he helped with her monthly bill paying activity. I remember how he always petitioned Chevron event coordinators for extra tickets for sponsored events so he could bring as many of his family members that were able to attend. He truly seemed to enjoy everything more when his family was around. I respect and appreciate Kevin´s love of family.

Kevin and I enjoyed sharing DIY projects and ideas and many of the same movies, TV shows, and music genres. We both love comedies and action films and quoted them to each other often. I will forever hear him singing bits of songs while working at his desk. I recall him singing, "It´s the final countdown..." then a few minutes later it might be, "Swing low, sweet chariot, coming for to carry me home..." And I´ll never forget the echo of his loud sneezes, then a shrill whistle and "Yowza, or WhooWee!" He often spoke of getting the guys at work together for a poker game. He had it all planned out with who and what game and snacks of course! I wish we would have done that. Kevin often complained that it was too cold in the office, and frequently it was, but he was the only one who would be wearing a jacket and possibly a beanie most of the year.

I will miss our deep philosophical conversations (solving the world´s problems of course) where we let our guard down and really got to the heart of matters, the ones where we came to agreement, as well as the ones where we agreed to not agree so much. That´s something I admired and enjoyed throughout my friendship with Kevin, he never let differences in opinion, experience, or style prevent him from enjoying, learning from, and respecting others.

Like everyone who got to know him, I am deeply saddened by his passing and will greatly miss my friend Kevin. I am thankful for the time and experiences I was able to share with him. In time, I hope the family can find peace in the memories you will always have of times spent with Kevin. May God bless you all in this time of grieving.

Sincerely,
Nathan Jones

Growing up we shared so many memories together. I was always the Tomboy who could hold my own playing football out at Enos Lane. Your seriousness was just as much a part of you as your jokes. You loved and made family your priority. They will grieve your loss, but have your lasting memories forever. I will miss you, and sorry you´ll have to hear my Kevin´s awful corny jokes

I'm so incredibly sorry and heartbroken to hear about Kevin's passing. Working alongside him for the past 9 years was a privilege. I'll always remember him for his willingness to help, his unfailing politeness, and just how technically brilliant he was. He could always figure things out and was so generous in sharing his knowledge.
He was a wonderful colleague, and it's hard to imagine the team without him. I feel very sad, when I look at his office desk next to my. I miss you Kevin and my thoughts are with his family and friends.

Such brutal and devasting loss. My cousin and brother. Gonna miss our lively "discussions" and viewpoint sharing sessions. So many memories and good times. My deepest condolences to Shannan and my nieces and nephews, Tyler, Hayden, Sarah and Allie and all the grandkids.

My heart is broken for all of you. I pray that with time, your grief will be soften by the memories and knowledge that Kevin loved all of you. Time will not wither the love you shared, and it will not steal the memories you keep and will cherish of Kevin.
