Kevin Scott Johannes

Kevin Scott Johannes, 49, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at his home in Joplin. He was born in Dallas, Texas, on June 6, 1960 and is survived by his parents, Jim and Opal Johannes, of Joplin; a brother, Ryan Jeffery Johannes, of La Mesa, Calif.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was known for his big smile and friendly ways. He had a lifelong interest in amateur radio and received his novice, general and advanced licenses by the age of 13. He was also active in bowling in the Joplin area. He graduated high school in Edmond, Okla., and held many certifications in the communications field, which was his career for 30 years. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Parker Mortuary in Joplin, and Mobley-Dodsen Funeral home, of Sand Springs, Okla. Graveside services and interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery at Mannford, Okla., on Monday, Nov. 30, at 1 p.m.
