Kevin Ray Koen

The Koens lived next door to us when we lived in Colorado,when Kevin was a toddler.He used to visit our house regularly & frequently.He was a very sweet & adorable little blond haired boy. We always looked forward to his visits.He used to come over & ask if our dad could "come out & play". He used to enjoy eating poached eggs w/our mother.Our dog would wrap herself around Kevin when he was getting too close to our somewhat busy street & would nudge him towards a safer area.We all have very fond memories of Kevin & have thought of him frequently over the years. We were all very sad to learn of his passing.

I am so very sorry to learn of Kevin's passing. Though we lost touch after college, I have countless fond memories of Kevin and will always remember him as a brilliant, talented and passionate young man with a big heart. Please accept my deepest condolences; the entire family is in my thoughts and prayers.

The Janger family had the great pleasure of living across the street from the Koen family for four years in Cypress. I enjoyed many "driveway discussions" with Kevin as we watched Cam and my kids tear up the cul-de-sac on their bikes and skateboards. He was a great father, neighbor, and husband - with mad cycling skills and a constant smile on his face. May you all take comfort in knowing how much he loved his wife, son, and entire family.

As one of Kevin's classmates in high school I was able to enjoy his laughter and wonderful sense of adventure and fun. I am extremely saddened to hear of your loss. May God be a comfort for you and your family during this difficult time.

I meet Kevin and Rachel at the Cylocross national championships when Cam was still a baby. From the moment we meet, I sensed the love and passion Kevin had for the sport, and most importantly his family. I never had the chance to tell Kevin how much he inspired me and how much respect I have for him as an athlete, husband and father. Kevin, you will be deeply missed. Until we meet again my friend.

Our heartfelt condolences are with Rachel, Cameron, and the entire family. I have greatly enjoyed working with Kevin over the past 10 yrs and was looking forward to being back on the same team. I have the greatest respect for his engineering ability and as a person he was my friend. I will miss him and toast him during the Tour de France where we always enjoyed discussions/texts around the daily races. He will be sorely missed but remembered with very good memories. May your memories comfort you all and may God's peace surround you. Our prayers will cover you to carry you through this time.

I had the honor of being one of Kevin's class mates for the first NGLP and a friend and peer at work. He was one of those who people just enjoyed being around.
I enjoyed our discussions about everything from global standards to the ridiculous cost of summer camp. You will be missed my friend.

I enjoyed the 2 years I was able to spend working with Kevin on the Tahiti Development Project...he was one of the best and although I have not had the chance to visit with him for years, I truly am saddened that he is no longer be with us. I have known Kevin about 15 yrs, worked with him at COP, and we still talked every few months. He never met a stranger, and I never met anyone that did not call him friend. I will miss him.

I had the pleasure of working with Kevin for the past three years at Chevron. I am saddened to see my friend pass. I will miss his energy, intelligence, enthusiasm, and smile.

Catherine and I are completely heartbroken over the loss of Kevin. He was a profoundly genuine and thoughtful friend. He cultivated kindness. Kevin was always the first person to make the stranger in the room feel welcomed. His deep caring for his friends was a gift we will always treasure. We'll always remember the way he adored Rachel. He doted over his true love; his affection and love for her always infectiously transparent. Their love inspired us. In time, all of our hearts will heal, but there will always be a void.
