Kevin was a beautiful soul that loved God and loved all the beautiful things that God created. I met Kevin when he was in the same scripture class at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. As my late husband and I grew closer to him, we learned that their grandmothers had know each other, and were friends. When the scripture study ended, our group continued to meet in our home. We were so blessed to have encountered Kevin in this life. I consider him to have been one of God's most precious people. Until we meet again, my friend, please know that you were loved by me and Jim Fox.

To Kevin’s Wife, Pat, His Family and Friends:
Kevin’s generosity, goes back, for me, to 1969, Hollywood, CA and Kevin’s rented home on Oakwood Avenue, shared with other artists. I was new in town and Kevin offered a guest room for a while, as I looked for work and a rental of my own. Kevin’s experience and encouragement was great help for my start with filmmaking as an artform and career.
Fast-forward to 2020, having retired (modestly) to an olive and wine growing area in Northern California, I was sorting through storage boxes, and came across a 50-year-old photo lab receipt with Kevin’s old Oakwood Avenue address. Curious, and wishing to again thank Kevin, I was able to find a current phone number and called.
Kevin answered and it seemed like no time had passed!
Kevin, his wife, Pat, and I have since enjoyed many phone calls over these past 2 years.
Sharing in the life of an artist of Kevin’s depth, humor, slow-motion tenacity, creative honesty and spiritual dedication has been a blessing. And suddenly, we are left with the vacancy of his passing.
Through the tears, and with Grace from Above, large parts of this void are being replaced with appreciation for the rich legacy Kevin has left in his art: Pointe Pleasant, Mockingbird Hill, Gone Fishing, Or This One, Early Riser, Dreamscape, White Roses and especially at this time, his landscape. . . Sangre de Christo.
With gratitude to Kevin, prayers for his family and friends, and with Deepest Thanks to Pat, his wife,
Sincerely,
Nick Spaulding

Over 20 years ago, I connected with Kevin when I was a member of the Benedictine Monastery in Pecos ,NM. He told me about his artwork on the trail markers at the Pecos National Monument, so the next time I took our visitors there, I saw his incredible sketches. I was proud the
have a person from my hometown doing such incredible work! So sorry for your loss. We sisters will offer a Day of Prayer here for his beautiful soul!

Kevin, my dear friend from High School and fellow Artist, may the Good Lord welcome you into His care. I can remember the good times from the Freshman year and on. Jasper and Kasper were our nicknames. I have always been so impressed by your talents and imagination. You were at Disney, I was at Time Warner-not too bad for locals. Blessings, peace and comfort to your loved ones.

I was so glad to reconnect with Kevin 2 or 3 years ago after not seeing him since high school. We own some of his artwork, which we really like, and were able to visit with him and Pat after the most recent purchase. He was an interesting and compassionate teenager, and remained that way when we reconnected in our 70's. I am only sorry that we were not able to spend more time together recently. Our condolences to Pat.
