Kevin Andrew PEARCE

KEVIN ANDREW PEARCE After a very short yet courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, Kevin passed peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at the age of 54. Beloved husband of Stephanie Dunn; devoted and proud father of Grace and Claire; loving son of Elizabeth and the late Michael Pearce; dear brother of Kate (Paul), Carol (Fred) and Doug (Kim); brother-in-law of Graham (Jen); and amazing uncle to Madeleine, Pearce, Helena, Ben, Allison, Charlie and Colin. Kevin will be deeply missed by his extended family and many friends. Always quick with a smile, a kind word, and a silly dad joke, Kevin was intelligent, witty, honest, principled and accepting of others. He positively impacted the lives of everyone who had the privilege to know him. Kevin grew up in Toronto where he learned to play various instruments which fueled his passion for music. He was a self-taught guitar, mandolin and harmonica player and was known to plunk the keys of a piano every now and again. Hockey was part of his DNA. He was president of the Burlington Men's Hockey League for the last several years of his life, and every Friday night of the winter was devoted to the eighty men he loved to play with - regardless of the severity of the weather. Friday nights were for hockey - non-negotiable! As a lifelong supporter of the Toronto Maple Leafs he watched the games religiously and despite the team never winning the Stanley Cup in his lifetime, his faith, confidence and support never wavered. He was passionate about sailing and was a lifelong member of the Royal Canadian Yacht Club where he participated in and won many Tuesday night races at the helm of his family's sailboat Joy. Kevin loved his time spent at the family cottage on Go Home Lake, puttering around fixing things, hiking the woods, sailing his Laser and playing endless games of fetch with his beloved golden retrievers, Gilmour and Georgia. There are truly no words that can adequately describe what a special person Kevin was. His absence leaves a giant hole in our hearts and in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. We would like to thank our local Community Care in-home services in Burlington, especially Joel who always arrived with a positive and sunny disposition. To our wonderful friends, family, neighbours and colleagues, we can't thank you enough for your boundless love and support. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of his Life will be held in the near future.
