Kevin SHAW Obituary
December 28, 1957 - September 26, 2014
On September 26, 2014 Kevin passed away suddenly at the age of 56.
Predeceased by his mother Mackin in 1982, his father Donald in 2011 and sister Colleen in 2011, he leaves behind his sisters Elizabeth, Diane and Louise (Edward) Chan and his beloved niece and nephew Connor Chan and Courtney Chan. He also leaves behind extended family and many dear friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on October 4, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Connelly-Mckinley Funeral Home, 10011-114 Street, Edmonton, AB.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to any charity would be appreciated.

I was the very first client he ever had as an insurance agent. We used to joke about that all the time as we followed to wherever he went as a broker. He was a very kind person and we had a lot of laughs together as we got to know him over the years he will be missed.

Kevin was a one of a dwindling breed. Always there to help and had great customer skills. I met Kevin through my brother David, and became a friend and our insurance agent. We talked usually every 2nd month when updating my insurance etc and a 5 minute conversation always turned into 20 minutes or longer. Kevin will be missed and never forgotten!

I spoke with Kevin on Friday and he was to call me after a Doctor's appointment Saturday. When I didn't hear from him I was hoping he hadn't had any bad news from the doctor. I enjoyed being your next door neighbor for the 5 years that I was. You were always very helpful and kind. I have plenty of fond memories to draw upon when I think of my friendship with you. I am sorry I did not visit since I moved to BC several years ago. This August I returned to Alberta and had already looked up your phone number in order to reconnect with you. However, I thoroughly enjoyed our many over-the fence-conversations and we had a lot of laughs.

Kevin was the sort of person that would quite literally take the shirt right off his back and give it to you. He was a kind, gentle and caring guy, If he saw a need, he was there to help. We always felt safe knowing he was taking care of every little detail for us when we had an issue. He was a dear friend and we will miss him terribly .We send our deepest sympathy to his family. I am sadden to hear that Kevin has moved on to another plane of existence. I met him years ago growing up together in Rio Terrace. I valued our friendship and all the fun times we had back then, not unlike the movie Stand by Me. We learned about life together. My condolences to his family and friends.

I first met Kevin in Grade 2 and we were friends from then on. He was a great friend and I will cherish my memories of him and glad that we got to grow up together and beyond. Our deepest condolences to the Shaw Family. I first met Kevin in high school. He was ever so kind to even dog sit for us once, although a long time ago now. We lost touch with Kevin over the years, but will never forget his infectious laugh, his charm, wit, and good nature. It is with great sadness that we say goodbye today.

Words cannot describe the sorrow I feel for the loss of our beloved Kevin.
The no 1 son of the Shaw family.
He was such a dear person.
Gordy and I were so fortunate that we had such a wonderful visit with Kevin when we visited Edmonton a few years ago.

Kevin stood up for Mike and I at our wedding in 1984. We were a tight bunch back then and spent many evenings together. He later acted as our family insurance agent and although contact between he and I had fallen off in recent years, I will always remember and cherish Kevin's friendship. My sincere condolences to Kevin's family. RIP my friend.
