Kevin M. Sheehan

Kevin M. Sheehan SAUGERTIES-Kevin M. Sheehan, 56, of Old Rte. 32, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012 at the Beth Israel Hospital in Manhattan. Born, July 20, 1955, in Poughkeepsie, he is the son of Michael Sheehan and the late Marie Sheehan. A graduate of Saugerties High School, Class of 1973, he received a degree in Automotive Technology from SUNY, Canton. After graduating from college, he was employed as a contracted automotive technician for the United Parcel Service in Kingston. In 1981, he opened Kevin M. Sheehan, Inc. Auto Repair which became a very successful and well known business in the community. Kevin enjoyed being outdoors, restoring classic cars with his sons and spending time at Sacandaga Lake. Besides being a gifted auto mechanic and successful businessman, Kevin was skilled in numerous home improvement activities, and was in the process of converting his basement into an apartment. Kevin was always willing to help those in need, and pumped out quite a few flooded basements after Hurricane Irene struck the area. Kevin's great sense of humor and occasional practical jokes will be greatly missed by his friends and family. He was a member of the Saugerties Athletic Association Golf League and the Saugerties Lions Club. Besides his father, Michael R. Sheehan, of Tucson, Ariz., survivors include one son; Michael R. Sheehan of Saugerties, one sister; Regina Montgomery of Tucson, three brothers; Patrick of Ohio, Timothy and Joseph both of Tucson. His former wife, Tammy Schrowang Sheehan and several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. He was predeceased by a son, Jason A. Sheehan. His funeral procession will form at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc., cor. of John & Lafayette Sts. Thence to St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church where at 10 a.m., a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Interment will follow in the Blue Mt. Cemetery. Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Family suggests donations in his memory be made to the Jason Sheehan Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o SHS, Call Box A, Saugerties, N.Y., 12477.
