It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kevin one week shy of his 15th birthday, after a brief but courageous battle with Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma. His memory will forever be cherished by his parents Joe & Tamara and his three older siblings Brooke, Brett and Mackenzie. Kevin will be joining Grandpa Sid in heaven. Beloved grandson of Nellie Siddall, Dr. Al & Twyla Warwaruk. He will be greatly missed by his numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Kevin was a gifted student-athlete. His loss will be felt by the sporting community, especially the Windsor Stars Baseball Organization and Windsor Minor Hockey Association. He was blessed with teachers and coaches at Christ the King Elementary school who nurtured his development in the classroom and in sports. Even though he was unable to physically attend class, the Holy Names High school community acknowledged and embraced Kevin as an active student. Special thanks to the staff at LHSC for sharing in our journey. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, please consider donations to ChildCan, The Ronald McDonald House of Southwestern Ontario or Lymphoma Canada in Kevin's memory. To the Siddall and Warwaruk family, Kevin reminded me so much of my son Bryan Piet who also died before achieving his dreams. Bryan passed away at 15 years of age after being hit by a car on Bouffard Rd. in Lasalle in 1997. He was a pitcher for The Lasalle Turtle Club when they won the Ontario and Canadian Juvenile Baseball Championships and went on to the World Series. Bryan attended St. Joseph's in River Canard and Sandwich Secondary School in Lasalle where he excelled in basketball, hockey and track and field.
Kevin and Bryan lived twin lives. They were both very athletic, very smart, charismatic and they were both loved by everyone they met.
As my tears flow reliving the pain of losing Bryan, I feel the pain you are going through in losing your beautiful son, a wonderful gift of fourteen years on this earth with Kevin in your lives. Our children are gifts to us from God and I realized too late that we have to dedicate our lives to them, cherish them and tell them we love them every day of our lives.
Please accept Bonnie and my sincere condolences for your loss of a wonderful son. We also want to send our condolences to the rest of Kevin's family, friends, schoolmates and to my long time friend Dr. Al Warwaruk and his wife Twyla. I spent a lot of time with Al over the years starting when he delivered my four children Christina, Angela, Alicia and Bryan Piet.
Life is short and we look forward to being with our loved ones who have gone before us to prepare a place for us.
