Kevin Jon Tang

Kevin was a spark plug! I will miss his energy, his quick mind, and his wonderful humor. These are just a few of the things I appreciated about him, working with him at REHAB. I know you have so many more wonderful memories that will keep him alive in your hearts and your minds; and I know Sophia will get to know him better through you. You are in my prayers! May God bless you and keep you as you make this transition.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of Kevin's family and friends. We worked at the same firm in Orlando for a short time when he first moved to Florida. He was a thoughtful and considerate co-worker and a brother in Christ. He will be missed.

Kevin was a good friend who will be dearly missed by many. As we grieve his loss I wanted to share a story with his family and friends. I first met Kevin in law school but one particular story brings a smile to my face every time. In the summer of 2000 we were playing a round of golf in Ponte Viedra, FL as part of a firm retreat. I don't think Kevin had ever played a round of golf prior to that time, but participated in the firm function in order to be a good team player.



I was in the group playing behind Kevin and vividly recall seeing him warm up for his first swing on the first hole. Suffice it to say that Kevin did not have a traditional stance and actually stood in a position similar to sitting on a chair as he swung the club. The results were not pretty.



Never-the-less Kevin endeavored on and his group came to a par three hole. I think it was about 150 yards long. Each golfer used a standard iron but Kevin selected what was either a driver or a three wood (which for those of you who are not golfers is a club designed for much longer distances). Kevin swung the club and those who were in his group indicated that the ball never really even got off the ground. However, it ended up in the hole as a hole in one. I was driving up to the place where Kevin was standing when his foursome broke into tremendous cheers. In the most unorthodox manner and in what was probably his first golf outing, Kevin achieved what most golfers do not achieve in a lifetime of playing: a genuine hole in one and on a world class golf course. Although the gravity of the achievement was somewhat lost on Kevin, the firm purchased a plaque which displayed the ball along with a recognition of the achievement. I wonder if he continued to display that plaque in his office in Tallahassee.



Kevin was truly a special person and I offer my condolences to his family who will remain my prayers.

My sympathies to the Tang family. Kevin was an asset to our choir. He had taken a leave of absence this Fall, but I was so glad to see him back this winter. Quite often he would be there for choir on Sunday mornings with Sophia in tow. Kevin was quiet in choir. I got to know him at a choir retreat a couple of years ago. I have a wonderful picture on him jumping off the diving board at Camp Weed that weekend. The picture captures him just as hit the water. It made him look like he was walking on water. I know he is with our Lord now, but for those of us left, we will miss him

For All of the Family:

I work here at the College of Law with Stephanie, whom I think the world of and although I did not know Kevin I'm sure he had to have been a very fine person like Stephanie. My prayers go out to all of the family in your time of sorrow.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire families at this difficult time . I did not personally know Kevin I have been an employee at DFS ( DOI) since 1979 and he will be greatly missed by all of us at DFS . God Bless each and everyone of you and be comforted that he is with the Father and he has made it up to heaven where we all hope to be one day.

Kevin Tang - you will be truly missed! You were forever the bright sunshine to anyone who had the pleasure of meeting you. Forever the optimistic, forever the nicest guy, forever a friend. God speed on your journey to the Lord.
