Kevin was a great friend & colleague at The Globe's Sports Dept. Besides his talents covering hockey and golf, he did a stint as Schools editor where two of his staff were (I believe) the young Dan Shaughnessy and Lesley Visser. I am sorry to hear of Mr. Walsh´s passing. He was my U10 hockey coach in Simsbury back in the 1970´s. He contributed so much to my love for the game. I have so many great memories of him, playing for him, and great friendships/teammates. It was a great experience. In fact, after 45 years I still have my jacket patches and newspaper pictures from that team. His obituary really captures his great life and legacy. I am so happy to have known him.

Eleanor, Kevin, Brian, & Katie,
I am heartbroken to learn of Kevin´s passing. He was a beacon in my life. His advice was the catalyst to my career in education. When we were last together our conversation was filled with stories of the talents and escapades of his grandchildren (and children). Family was clearly at the heart of everything he did.
