Kim Marie Handley 61 of Rapid City passed away Saturday, October 1, 2022.
Traditional all night wake will begin at 7pm Monday, October 10 at On Common Ground 610 St. Francis Street in Rapid City. A funeral service will be 10 am Tuesday at On Common Ground, with burial to follow at Mt Calvary Cemetery in Rapid City. Online condolences can be left at www.osheimschmidt.com
Kim was Born in Rapid City, South Dakota to Gerald and Betty (Hayes) Handley. She was raised in Rapid City, and their home in Farmingdale, South Dakota with her brothers and sisters. She received her LPN at Western Dakota Tech and became a nurse and worked at various nursing homes in Rapid City, including hospice, Sioux San, and Native Women's Health Care. She spent the last three years taking care of her parents out in Farmingdale.
Kim is survived by her 3 children: Shyanne Taylor, Jered Handley, and Lamya Handley. 5 siblings Skoshi Rencountre, Antoinette Handley, Lorie Pina, David Handley, Bobbie Jo Handley; grandchildren Shytai Taylor, Duce McCree, Ashyah Taylor, Nazire Newton, Dallas Williams, Joslyn High Bear, Jayonna High Bear, Amelia, and Jeremih. Many Nieces, Nephews, all Friends and family, and her dog Freya.
Kim was preceded in death by her grandparent's Jack and Nadine Henke (Handley). Luella Hayes, Father Gerald Lee, her brother Michael Handley, nieces Anna Rae, and Tia Rose, and Karlita Rose.
