Kim Hansen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 15, 2024.
Soldotna - Kim Marie Hansen, 64, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 26th, 2024 at her home in Soldotna, Alaska where she had been a resident for the past 20 years. She was born on November 6th, 1959 in Muenchweiler, Germany to Russell and Inez (Carlson) Hansen. Kim was a 1977 graduate of Rosholt High School in Rosholt, WI. After attending the Army, she graduated with a degree in accounting from Northcentral Technical College in Wausau.

She worked for the Wisconsin DNR until moving to Alaska with her husband Ron Beyering in 2004. Despite divorcing in 2016, they remained close friends. While in Alaska Kim worked as a controller for a local fishery until her retirement from the industry in 2021.

Kim was the daughter who always kept her parents wondering what she was up to, the sister you could always count on (to be late), and the aunt who made it clear that if you ever found yourself in trouble, she would come bail you out of jail. She was also incredibly loyal, thoughtful, kindhearted, and compassionate. She would do anything for anyone, anywhere, at any time.

She leaves behind two sisters, Wendy (Bert) Mayhak and Karen (Leon) Brzezinski, five nieces and nephews; Shane, Shannon, Lisa, Paul, and Julie, and her three dogs, which she was never without; Kenai, Forrest, and Missy. She is preceded in death by her mother, father, and ex-husband Ron.

The family would like to thank Kim's Alaska friends for being her chosen family away from home. She loved all of you unconditionally.

Peninsula Memorial Chapel & Crematory in Kenai, Alaska is assisting the family with arrangements. A private memorial to celebrate Kim's life will be held on her property in Alaska in the spring where her ashes will be spread per her final wishes.

In remembrance of Kim, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to your local humane society or the Arbor Day Foundation, reflecting her strong support for these causes.
