Kim Mazerolle Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 27, 2025.
Kim Marie Mazerolle, 67, of Holden, Maine went home with the Lord peacefully on May 25, 2025 surrounded by family after a lingering illness. Kim was born on June 21, 1957 to parents Eugene "Dale" and Norma (Corrow) Bouchard in Caribou, Maine. The second born of five, Kim was often seen as a protector to her younger siblings and a loyal confidant to her older sister. She graduated in 1975 from Caribou High School. Kim married her husband, Robert "Bob" Mazerolle on August 21, 1976. Born to be a mother, Kim and Bob welcomed their daughter, Alicia, in 1980 and together raised her in Newburgh, Maine. She and Bob once owned a prolific seafood company, Mazie's Shellfish, working together to provide and deliver seafood around the state. In addition to the shellfish company, she held various employment positions until she found her niche working to manage a private pediatric cardiology office in 1985 and retired from her career in 2019 after serving as practice manager to many practices within a hospital in Bangor, Maine. She spent 34 years dedicated to each practice she managed and often went above and beyond to advocate for the doctors she worked for and the patients they cared for. After retiring, Kim and Bob followed a long-term dream of theirs to snowbird between Maine and Florida every year, soaking up the best parts of each place spending time with loved ones and enjoying their much-earned retirement. A strong woman of unwavering faith, Kim's strength was in her softness. She was a caregiver at heart, ready to offer help wherever her family needed including providing a healing space to stay while her sister-in-law, Kerry, received treatment for leukemia and caring for her niece after Kerry's untimely death. She found herself caring for many dogs and cats that Bob brought home either from the shelter or animals he found on his routes while making seafood deliveries. While she may not have sought out these pets and, at times, objected to them, she considered them family and cared for them with such attentiveness and grace. She was always actively involved with her family, especially in her grandchildren's lives, spending time with them any chance she had as well as attending their school functions, sports games, dance recitals, and dance competitions. She offered her undivided attention to those she spent time with. Kim will always be remembered for her softspoken, always patient, unassuming nature. A void will be felt by all those who encountered her. Her legacy will live on in all of us who knew and loved her as we try to embody just a fraction of her kind and gentle spirit.

Kim was preceded in death by her father, Eugene "Dale" Bouchard, a sister-in-law, Kerry Jo Bouchard, a niece, Amy Ketch, and her mother, Norma (Corrow) Bouchard.

Kim is survived by her dedicated husband of 48 years, Robert "Bob" Mazerolle, her devoted daughter, Alicia McDougall, son-in-law, Shawn McDougall, 7 grandchildren, Ava (Myles) Buswell, Anabelle McDougall, Charlotte McDougall, Landon McDougall, Collins McDougall, Finnley McDougall, and Liza McDougall, 2 great-grandchildren, Raelynn Buswell and not yet earthside baby boy Buswell, siblings Colleen (John) Chabal, Patricia (William) Dyer, Lorna (Phil) Ketch, and Timothy (Amy) Bouchard, and a special niece, Kylee Bouchard, as well as many other nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Family and friends may attend visiting hours on Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 5:00-7:00pm at Brookings-Smith Funeral Home on Center Street in Bangor, Maine. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 11:00am with a fellowship lunch to follow at Crosspoint Church on Broadway in Bangor, Maine. We ask that if you attend the service on Friday to wear your favorite shade of blue in Kim's honor. Your presence is present enough, but if you wish, Kim loved all flowers. In lieu of flowers, Kim's choice of cause is the First Step Pregnancy Resource. If you wish to donate, they are located at 336 Mount Hope Avenue #11 in Bangor, Maine.

I am so very saddened to read the news that Kim has passed. There is no sweeter woman than she on this earth. She worked for Dr. Gilladoga and was so pleasant when I would bring my children in to see the Dr. Kim and I would run in to each other at the hospital and always spoke, long after my kids graduated from the Dr.s office. My condolences to the family and all her friends. Rest assured she is in heaven with our Heavenly Father.

You will be missed Kim. We all remember your intense way of placing an order at restaurants, from, "what kind of oil do you cook with" " what seasoning do you use" to I´ll have a take home box please. We all enjoyed our time together. Say hi to Dale and Norma and Clifford and Maryann for us. Love ya Sis!

Dear Bob, Alicia and family,
My heart goes out to all of youas you mourn your mother, grandmother, and aunt. I am so sorry she won't be able to celebrate with the Class of 1975 at our reunion this summer. The last time I spoke with her she was determined to do so! This beautifully written obituary captured the kind and gentle soul that she was. Rest peacefully, Kim.
