What a tragedy (to those of left behind) to lose this tender, dear soul. My earliest memories center around family gatherings at Christmas and Thanksgivings. Her family was nearby in the Spokane (her family briefly lived across the street during my elementary school years) while her father was stationed overseas. Because her father was in the USAF, they moved about from time to time. Each time it broke my heart a little bit when they moved away. The Backstroms were always a balanced and loving family - Kim included. A year older than me, Kim always provided me with a more mature way to look at things. That was not just a matter if age, I´m not too sure if I ever fought up with her! And she had no compunction abut correcting me - but always with a smile, backed by love. For these last decades, we had mostly infrequent contact - with a couple thousand miles between us. But that will never erase the foundational input she (and her family) had in my life. To my Uncle Jim, Aunt Dorothy, now gone Wendy, (Greg was a baby); Heaven just got richer. I´m comforted in knowing that she is safely in the arms of Jesus. I love you all, and I join those who morn with you over this loss.
