Kimberly Martin Obituary

Kimberly Mae (Marceau) Martin passed away on April 8, 2025, in Newport, Tennessee. Born on June 15, 1967, at 10:30 AM, she entered the world with a vibrant spark and a lion-hearted spirit that would illuminate the lives of those around her for nearly six decades. Much like the month of March, she came in like a lion-and left us, peacefully and gently, like a lamb.

Kimberly lived her life with boldness, humor, love, and deep compassion. Brave, kind, passionate, and absolutely fearless-there was nothing life threw at her that she couldn't catch and toss back with strength and wit. She met life head-on, with purple pans in the kitchen, a cigarette on a haunted hotel balcony, and open arms for anything her children brought home-whether it be a kitten or a full-sized cow.

She shared a deep and enduring bond with her soulmate, Daniel Martin-a connection rooted in love and mutual devotion. Theirs was a rare kind of love, built on friendship, laughter, respect, and unwavering support. Dan adored Kimberly with his whole heart, through every chapter of life. His love for her was visible in the way he looked at her, spoke of her, and stood by her side no matter what. He loved her fiercely, truly, and without condition-for everything she was and all the beauty she brought into the world.

As a mother, Kimberly poured her heart into raising her son Jade and daughter Sara. They were her greatest joys and the very heart of her world. Kimberly was unwavering in her love and acceptance, supporting her children wholeheartedly for exactly who they are. Her home was always a safe haven-filled with warmth, encouragement, and the unshakable belief that they were already perfect in her eyes.

Kimberly was also a nurturer by nature, caring not only for her own children but for many others over the years. Her love and compassion knew no bounds.

Her spirit danced in shades of purple-her favorite color-and bloomed like the flowers in summer. She found joy in Stephen King novels, the thrill of the paranormal, and the laughter that echoed through haunted places she explored with her beloved sister, Manrae Marchant. Whether ghost hunting or cheering alongside each other as proud varsity cheerleaders at Milton High School, their bond was lifelong and unbreakable.

Never one to turn down an adventure-especially for love-Kimberly (reluctantly) moved to Tennessee to be with Dan, where the two of them built a house together from the ground up. Though she may have arrived with some hesitation, she quickly made it a home full of warmth, color, critters, and laughter. In time, Sara and Jonah moved down to help, filling the space with even more love, support, and family.

Her journey was marked by both joy and sorrow. She carried within her the strength born from loss-the memories of loved ones who had gone before her remained etched in her soul. She honored the lives of her beloved mother-in-law Sally Martin; sisters-in-law Jennifer and Ann Martin; brother-in-law Joey Martin; stepmother-in-law Ila Martin; cherished grandparents William and Beatrice Marceau, and Evelyn and William Boardman; and her dearest lifelong friend, Carrie Lafar Leary.

To those who knew Kimberly, she was a force-bold in presence, generous in spirit, unafraid to live fully and love deeply. Her kindness rippled outward, touching countless lives with warmth, humor, and grace. She was a fierce, loving protector, a creative soul, and a constant source of light.

Her memory continues to bloom in the hearts of those left behind: her husband Danny, son Jade (Anne Hopkinson) and her children Theodore, Matilda and Jack Hopkinson, daughter Sara (Jonah Wark); sister-in-law Lisa Martin; nephew Gage, and niece Tia (Andrew Juhasz) and their daughter Mila; niece Jessica (Cody Collins) and their daughters Lillian and Owyn Collins; father-in-law Joseph Martin; sister Manrae Marchant (Shaun Marchant); her mother Brenda Marceau; her father Roger Marceau and her stepmother Melody; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and chosen family-along with her beloved best friends Julie Messier Briganti and Debby Marchant Robinson, who will remember her laughter, feel comforted by her love, and remain inspired by the courage with which she lived.

You have left a space in our lives that cannot be filled, and a sorrow in our hearts that words cannot fully express. Yet even in our grief, we smile through tears when we remember you-your spirit, your stories, your love. We imagine you now in a place of peace and comfort, pain-free, wearing Nana's red shoes and laughing with Sally.

Rest gently, our precious Kimberly Mae. You are deeply loved. You always will be.

-With all our love,

Your family

I have needed to take some time to process this loss. Kim was such a huge part of my teenage years and a loving, supportive friend. I feel so blessed to have spent a day with her last year. A day filled with laughter, memories and friendship. I will miss her smile, her laughter and her heart, which was always filled with love. My deepest condolences to her family and all who loved her. Blessed be.

Kim was so interested in all her friends lives. I loved seeing all her FB posts and she would always lovingly comment on others with feelings for whatever it was good or bad to show how much she cared. I prayed hard for her in her cancer strong willed fight. God bless her family and friends and may she now rest in peace united with loved ones in Heaven!
