I hope you can see how much you are missed. I know you are watching over everyone and smiling with that vibrant smile that you always had. Love you!

Kirsch, my favorite memory of you is a day when we were kids cracking pecans in MawMaw & PawPaw's backyard at the old house. I had my first camera and I wanted take a picture of you. You ran over to statue of Mary and you put your arm around her, and I captured the mischievous grin on your face. I smile every time I look at that picture, still in MawMaw's collection on top of the TV. It holds even more significance now. Save a seat at the kid's table, next to Jerry, Jane and PawPaw. I will miss you.

A Poem for the Grieving

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there. I did not die.

"May They Not Be Forgotten"

Brother when you weep for me,
Remember that it was meant to be.
Lay me down and when you leave,
Remember I'll be at your sleeve.

In every dark and choking hall,
I'll be there as you slowly crawl.
On every roof in fallen rain,
I'll hold your coat and you will know.

In cellars hot with searing heat,
At windows where a gate you meet,
In closets where young children hide,
You know I'll be there at your side.

The house from which I now respond,
Is overstaffed with heroes gone.
Men who answered one last bell,
Did the job and did it well.

As firemen, we understand
That death's a card dealt in our hand-
A card we hope we never play,
But one we hold there anyway.
That card is something we ignore,
As we craw across a weakened floor.
For we know that we're the only prayer
For anyone that might be there.

So remember, as you wipe your tears,
The joy I know throughout the years,
As I did the job I loved to do,
I pray that thought will see you through.

To the family of Kirsch

We met Kirsch when she was in high school dating "Bo Jack". She was a beautiful young lady, and we enjoyed the times we spent together at football games and various other activities.

The last time I saw Kirsch was as she was leaving the church after our Advent Reconciliation Service at which Blaintney celebrated the Sacrament of First Reconciliation. I will never forget the wonderful warm smile as a "proud Mom" Kirsch had on her face as she left the Church that cold December night.

May she rest in peace and the perputal light shine on her always.

Blaintey - "Miss Myra" as well as the "First Eucharist Class" at St. Gabriel sends their love and support.

I met Kirsch for the first time when I was at BoJack's house and she was comming to pick the kids up, and Brody D said, "Ms. Lacey, I want you to come meet my mommy!" He was so excited to introduce me...he had the biggest smile on his face. Of course, I was nervous because it was kind of a wierd way of meeting your boyfriend's ex-wife for the first time, but she had the biggest smile on her face and she acted as excited as Brody was to meet me. Over the next year, we were involved in each others lives on a regular basis with Blatiney and Brody. If she needed something she would just call and I made sure I took care of it and when I contacted her she did the same. But it wasn't just about the kids, we formed a friendship that was hard to understand. We never hung out, but knew that if the circumstances were different and as time passed we could all probably done things together. I see Kirsch in her kids everyday and miss her dearly. I lost a friend, a partner in rasing her beautiful Blatiney and Brody and someone very dear to me.

I will always be here for Blatiney and Brody and take very good care of them, and I will be there for the rest of your family whenever they may need me Kirsch...I miss you very much...and we will never let the memory of you as a wonderful mother, perish in your children's lives.

I don't know your family and I did not know Kirsch, but I was drawn to this story because she and I share so many similarities. We are the same age, both mothers, I'm a registered nurse (graduated from OLOL), and I travel the roads that she had the accident on daily as a home health nurse serving the White Castle/Plaquemine area...Her death just touches my heart so much, it could have just as easily been me and the story would have read much the same. I pray for your family and for her children. God can and will comfort you and fill the voids you all will certainly have, I will keep you all in my daily prayers. God bless you all.

I had the privilege of meeting Kirsh just recently through Goose's family. Those times I spent around her I could see her love and joy for life. She was a pleasure to be around. She loved her kids, her family and Goose very dearly. She will be missed my many family, friends, and numerous loved ones. I pray for all who mourn her. Please keep her alive in your hearts and she will be around you always and forever. I send my deepest sympathy to all of you...

Kirsh's Family and Friends:

Please don't cry. I know you are scared.
I left you alone and you were not prepared.
But I saw a bright light that was so full of grace
So I walked towards it until I saw Jesus' face
I didn't mean to leave or make you sad and cry
I know you don't understand. No one knows why
But It'll be alright now, I just want you to know
I will always be with you no matter where you go
I'll be close by, if you need me just pray
Remember I am only, just a heaven away
I will live in your heart and in your memory
Just close your eyes and you will see me
Remember my smile, and also my laugh and kiss
I know these things you certainly will miss
Jesus said I couldn't stay I had to go alone
He prepared a place for me and he calls it home
Now I am an angel, I just wish you could see
How beautiful I am, since he set me free

January 24, 2009

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I was so shocked and saddened to read about Kirsch. We worked together at B.R. Ear Nose & Throat. She was such a sweet person and there was nothing she couldn't do! Blaitney was her heart and she was such a good Mother. I saw pictures from her wedding when she returned from her honeymoon and she made such a beautiful bride! I was just thinking of how I use to tease her because she would come to work without her makeup on and she was so great at the "5 minute makeup!" She was such a pretty girl .
