Kiyoshi Matsuo Obituary

Kiyoshi Matsuo Passed away in Foster City, CA, on April 25, 2006. He was 75. Kiyoshi was born on November 13, 1930 in Kearny, NJ. He attended Cornell University and worked as an architect from 1958 until retiring in 2003 from Kwan Henmi. He and his wife Dorothy moved to Foster City in 1968. There, Kiyoshi served as planning commissioner, councilman, and mayor. He was an active member of St. Ambrose Church serving on the Bishop's Committee and the Vestry as a Jr. and Sr. warden. At the diocesan level, he served as chair of the Episcopal Charities, a member of the Standing Committee and as a delegate to the General Convention. Kiyoshi will be greatly missed by his wife, Dorothy; his two children and their spouses: Holly Matsuo and David Marlow of Redwood City and Kirk and Brenda Matsuo of Foster City; and four grandchildren: Landon, Annie, Nathan and Ruby, with whom he spent time weekly. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Reiko Pang and their families, as well as relatives in Hawaii and Virginia. A private family Burial Service was held on May 5, 2006. Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service at St. Ambrose Episcopal Church, 900 Edgewater Blvd., Foster City on May 20, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Ambrose Episcopal Church.
