I was re-organizing my bookshelf tonight and came across a book that Knina wrote. Maybe when she was at Pratt but not sure. She was a wonderful friend when we lived in Brooklyn. Very kind and trusting yet had a great sardonic wit and was a very talented writer. She loved her pets very much. Almost 20 years later I think of her advice, style (still try and look for those shoes she always wore), and how much I respected her and what she meant to me. I love you Knina, and I'm so glad you were a good friend to me when I was young woman in New York. I'm sorry you went away too soon.

Her laughter still echoes in my ears, bringing warmth to my heart even in the midst of this unbearable loss. Every memory we shared together feels like a cherished treasure, a reminder of the beautiful soul she was.
Knina´s artistic abilities were unparalleled. The strokes of her paintbrush brought life to blank canvases, evoking emotions in those who gazed upon her masterpieces. Her voice, like honey, captivated audiences whenever she sang or spoke, effortlessly enchanting them.
Yet, it wasn't just her talent that made her special. It was her unwavering dedication to making a difference in the lives of others. Her compassionate heart knew no bounds, always extending a helping hand to those in need. She put her heart and soul into advocating for harm reduction and helping a population of people who are largely ostracized, lending an ear to anyone seeking solace. Her passion for giving back was simply awe-inspiring.
I find solace in knowing that her spirit lives on through the lives she touched. The legacy she leaves behind is one of love, kindness, and unwavering strength. She taught me to never give up, to always find beauty in the darkest of moments, and to cherish every precious second we have on this earth.
As I navigate through life without her physical presence, I am reminded of the lessons she taught me. To live boldly, to embrace my own talents, and to never let fear hold me back. In her absence, I will strive to carry on her legacy, to be the person she always believed I could be.
My dear friend, you were taken from this world far too soon, but your impact will forever be imprinted on my heart. I will continue to honor your memory, cherishing the love we shared and the moments we had together.
Rest in peace, my beloved friend. You will always be missed, but never forgotten.

I went to Pratt with Knina and am so sad to see that she passed away. We didn't have any classes together but I'd see her most weeks at the Gates Salon, a weekly group where writers would read their work late into the night. Knina was kind to me during a difficult time in my life and I'll always remember her for that. My deep condolences to her family.
