Please accept these belated condolences on Konrad's death - I just read about it in the University of Alberta Alumni Magazine "New Trail". Konrad's and my ways crossed at the UofA where I was employed from 1963-1974 as a professor of Russian. I fondly remember our many debates!

Marianne, Lenz, and family.
Sadly, I was not aware of Konrad's passing until the Globe and Mail article in today's paper. Oddly, I told my wife a story about Konrad just last Saturday.
Knowing Konrad meant lots of good stories. I cannot watch a bride walk down an aisle without replaying in my mind Konrad's rendition of Marianne's walk down the aisle. I cannot drink white wine without recalling Konrad and I cleaning out a liquor board store of a certain rarely found label (he gave me a two bottle finder's fee). And I cannot eat curried chicken without thinking of the gourmet who prepared my first meal with currie.
But mostly I remember our conversations and sometimes heated debates. I loved those.
My condolences to you on this loss.
