Kori Brantley Connell

Kori Brantley Connell, 39 years old, passed on Sunday, December 6, 2020, at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, IL. She was surrounded by family members and her passing was peaceful. A memorial service will be held in celebration of Kori's life at 3:00PM on December 23rd at Saint Matthias Episcopal Church, (3301 St Matthias Dr, Shreveport, LA 71119). A small reception will follow the service. Masks and social distancing will be required during the memorial service and reception per local and state mandates.

Kori was born on April 22, 1981 in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Michael and Martha Brantley. She was the youngest of three. Kori was educated in the Bossier Parish school system and graduated from Benton High School. She continued at LSUS to acquire her bachelor's degree.

During Kori's first marriage she became a loving mother to Baleigh and Cabren Parker. In September of 2018 Kori married Paul Connell in Bloomington, Illinois. Through this marriage she gained two additional children, Ashlyn and William Connell. Kori and Paul were very much in love

Kori enjoyed crafting, cooking, decorating for the holidays, shopping trips to Ross, and the annual Florida beach vacation. Her favorite pastime included sitting on the back porch and enjoying time with her family. Family meant everything to Kori. Her favorite time of year was Christmas, because she could gather with her extended family to celebrate such a joyous time.

Kori is preceded in passing by her grandfather, Benny Brantley, her grandfather Charles Holtsclaw; her grandmother Patricia Holtsclaw, her aunt Susan Holtsclaw; and her father-in-law, Clyde Connell.

Kori is survived by her husband, Paul Connell, her mother, Martha Brantley, her father Michael Brantley and wife Dot, her mother-in-law Shonnye Connell, her brother Robert Brantley and wife Cindy, her brother David Brantley and wife Shannon, her brother-in-law Trey Connell and wife Kristi, her children, Baleigh Parker, Cabren Parker, Ashlyn Connell, and William Connell; her nieces and nephews, Aidyn Brantley, Emery Brantley, Addison Connell, and Sam Epps, as well as a large extended family and many friends (and pets). Kori loved her family and friends with all her heart, and she was loved in kind. Words simply cannot express how deeply she will be missed in our hearts.

My name is Glenis Penn and I knew Kori when she worked DDS. I helped train her and she was one of the best and smartest analysts that I ever had the pleasure of working with. She was also a dear and sweet friend. I am just finding out about her passing probably because I lost my Mom not even a few weeks before Kori passed. My heart truly aches. I guess the Lord knew that I couldn´t handle losing my Mom and her at the same time. I MISS YOU KORI. But I know you´re up there keeping my Mom company. Love you sis

Kori was an amazing friend, always willing to listen and offer great advice. She had a way with words like no other. She was Aunt K.K. to my children, and Godmother to my daughter. Her passion for her children, her family, and God was like no other. I am thankful for our 3 hour conversation during Fall break.

I will miss you Kori, and I am thankful I was your friend. You will be missed.
