In memory of
Brij Mohan
December 9, 2023
Dr Agrawal reminds me of childhood when we lived in the tranquility of a feudal town, Mursan. We went to the same School and flew kites on the roof. Satish Bhai Sahib and Vidya Didi were my favorite people. May the Agrawals enjoy peace and prosperity forever. Brij Mohan

Krishna Agrawal and I flew kites from our rooftops in the late Fifties. Our families were close, physically and emotionally. I remember I was 12 or 13 yrs old: I was shivering in a bloody cold winter without warm clothes, Vidya Didi, made me a pink sweater in almost 24+ hrs. My mother was deadly sick and daddy was out of town, Tai ji Krishna's ( and Vidya's) mother made parathas that saved us. There is no other family that has touched my soul than KCA's (For the record, I was born in the same same house that became Kalcutta-wala's house (Circa 1939, MURSAN). Delightfully, one day in 1981, KCA and I met in New Orleans, LA, USA. I almost cried, when KCA passed away; I did eulogize that day. May his family, kiths, and kins, live a long and happy life. My spiritual granddaughter, Vidya Didi's granddaughter, keeps in touch with me and I am buoyed. Brij

Dear Mrs Agrawal & family,
You may not know me personally, but I am brother in law of Mr Girish C Agrawal. Through my Jijaji and my nephew Sanjay Mittal, I have come to know about yourself and your family ever since my childhood. As such, although we have not met in person but I have known your family for a long time. In fact, my father late Dr Hari Sankar Agarwala attended your marriage in Calcutta.
It is indeed very shocking news to note the untimely demise of Dr Krishna C Agrawal. I totally disbelief that such a tragedy can occur. But we mortals have nothing to say in the decisions of the Almighty. I and my family sincerely offer our condolence and pray for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace in the heavenly kingdom, and give strength to the family members to bear this irreparable loss.
Sincerely yours
My mother, Mrs Priti Shankar

Dear Maniji and Family,
I was informed by Professor Suresh Sikka about this tragic untimely news. I still remember interacting with Dr. Agrawal during my last visit and lecture in Pharmacology Dept. and when we all went for dinner together. He impressed me a lot with his wisdom and intellect. I had discussed with him and was looking forward to my collaboration in extending our clinical coordinator course at Tulane and sending some prospective students from here in India. He will surely be missed a lot!

For several years Dr. Agrawal served as a grant reviewer for the National Institutes of Health's Experimental Therapeutics Study Section. This is the principal study group that reviews applications from academics in the field of anti-cancer drug development. A superb medicinal chemist, we were fortunate to have him. The chemcial synthesis of these agents is often very complex, and whether these compounds will destroy cancer cells requires an informed and expert opinion. Dr. Agrawal's evaluations were thorough and thoughtful. The cancer drug development community mourns his passing.
