Unexpectedly on Monday, January 2, 2012, age 24, of Shaler Twp. Beloved daughter of Denise Novak and Neal Elmeier, Sr.; loving sister of Neal (Crissy Caprino) Elmeier, Jr. and Randi Lyn Elmeier; aunt of Gavin Elmeier; granddaughter of the late Bernard and Rose Marie Novak and Robert and Joan Elmeier; niece of Doug (Linda) Novak, Darryl Novak, Cheri (Huck) Schwartzmier, Allison "Ally" Novak, Karen and Dan Perry, Joyce and Dan Ryan and Dave and Anne Elmeier; also survived by many loving cousins. Friends received Thursday 2-9 p.m. at the HEALY - HAHN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 512 Grant Ave., Millvale. Blessing Service Friday 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, 120 Wall St. 29th Floor, New York, NY 10005.

It is expected that the loss of a parent(s) will happen in one's lifetime but to lose a child has to be the most difficult. I cannot even imagine what you are going through. I had the pleasure of spending an evening with Krista. She was sweet and smart and smiled a lot. She did not seem to mind spending an evening with "Nikki's Mom" one bit, and knew the answers to the oldie songs at music trivia. I am thankful for that opportunity to know her. As a Mom who knows the heartache of loosing a child, my heart goes out to her parents, and to all of her family and friends who will surely miss her forever.
