Kristen CAMERON Obituary
MSN (Schmidt) 61, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 27, at her home in Aripeka. She was born in Waterbury, CT March 11, 1953, daughter of the late William Schmidt and Shirley (Peck) Schmidt. After marrying Roderick Cameron and starting a family, she moved to Ridge Manor, FL. She graduated from Pasco-Hernando Community College in 1987 with her Associates of Science degree in Nursing, cum laude from Florida Southern College with her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 1992, and the University of South Florida with her Master of Science from the College of Nursing in 1994. After working as a charge nurse at East Pasco Medical Center, Kris went on to become a nursing instructor in the LPN/RN bridge program at Pasco Hernando Community College in Brooksville, for nearly 20 years. She was recognized as Professor Emeritus before her retirement. Kris is survived by her husband Rod, of Aripeka; and her children, Sara and her wife Amy Cameron-Morley of Everett, WA, her son, James and his wife Shannon of Zephyrhills; her sisters, Karen S. and her husband Nicholas Tarzia of Merrimac, MA, Kathleen A. and her husband Robert Porter of Newburyport, MA; and her brother, Kurt W. Schmidt and his wife Vicki of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three grandchildren, Kayla, Keria, and Savannah Cameron. Visitation Monday, Feb. 2, from 6-8 pm and Funeral Service Tuesday, Feb. 3, from 2-4 pm will be held at Downing Funeral Home, 1214 Wendy Ct., Spring Hill, FL.
