In Loving Memory of Kristen Bradley Poulicakos

Kristen Bradley Poulicakos, born on June 3, 1968, in Boston, Massachusetts, and raised in Scituate, has left us with heavy hearts as she peacefully departed this world on August 15, 2023, in the embrace of her home in Plymouth. Kristen's legacy is one of love, compassion, and the indomitable spirit that touched countless hearts across the globe.

Kristen is survived by her beloved child, Shay Poulicakos, her mother Ellie Bates (Interland) of Plymouth, her ex-husband and dear friend, Neil Poulicakos of Plymouth, and her cherished brothers, Brendan Bradley of Quincy, Ryan Bradley and his wife, Stephanie, of Cincinnati, as well as her niece, Rory Bradley of Cincinnati. She is also survived by her stepmother, Ellen Bradley of Harwich, and an extended family of countless friends and people whose lives she profoundly impacted during her 55 years on this Earth.

Kristen's greatest source of joy in life was being a devoted and loving mother to Shay Poulicakos. Her unwavering love and dedication to raising Shay with Neil Poulicakos were a testament to the enduring bond they shared.

Born in Boston on June 3, 1968, Kristen's formative years were spent in the picturesque town of Scituate, Massachusetts. Later in life, she made her home in Plymouth, where she created countless cherished memories with family and friends.

A graduate of Scituate High School in 1986, Kristen continued her education at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where she earned a bachelor's degree in communications in 1991. Driven by her desire to make a positive impact on the world, she pursued her social work license shortly after graduation.

Kristen's strong work ethic and unyielding dedication led her to the role of Director of Social Services at a prominent nursing home facility at the remarkable age of 25. In the years that followed, she embarked on a journey of her own, choosing to assist individuals and families facing the challenges of dementia. Her empathy and compassion provided solace to many families and their loved ones grappling with the heartbreaking disease of Alzheimer's.

In 1998, Kristen married Neil Poulicakos, and together, they shared over two decades of love, friendship and partnership before amicably parting ways. Their enduring connection and shared commitment to co-parenting Shay Poulicakos was a testament to their enduring bond.

Kristen's relationship with her mother, Ellie Bates, was a testament to the deep and unique connection they shared. They were not just mother and daughter; they were best friends and confidants, finding in each other soulmates whose bond transcended the ordinary.

Known for her quiet confidence, grace, and an innate ability to ensure others felt truly "seen," Kristen illuminated the lives of those around her. Her unwavering focus on the well-being of others was an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Kristen approached life with an insatiable love for living fully and a determination to wring every drop of joy from every moment. Her most cherished place was the beach, where she reveled in the simple pleasures of sun, sand, and the company of her beloved family and friends.

In her late 30s, Kristen embarked on a remarkable athletic journey, demonstrating her remarkable determination. She took up running and, with unyielding dedication and the support of cherished friends, achieved remarkable milestones, including participating in numerous marathons and sprint triathlons. Her crowning achievement was qualifying for the Boston Marathon twice, a testament to her unwavering commitment to her goals.

Kristen Bradley Poulicakos will be forever remembered as a radiant light whose kindness, determination, and love left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know her. Her memory will continue to inspire us to live life with the same passion, grace, and determination that she exemplified.

May she rest in eternal peace, leaving a legacy of love and inspiration for generations to come.
