Kristin Elizabeth Johnston Obituary
leaves to mourn her grandmother, Anna, Aunt Brenda and Uncle Peter McDonald, cousins Charles and Christopher Connelly and Scott and Kaitlin McDonald. Kristin will be missed by her 3 stepbrothers, Eric, Adam, Matthew, their families, step-aunt Elspeth, her children Vicky and Peter and their families. Kristin's life was further enriched by her many Montreal and Halifax friends. She lived life to the fullest. From hiking in the Himalayas, skydiving in New Zealand, snorkeling in Fiji, salmon fishing in Tofino to energetically running a hot yoga studio in Halifax, her enthusiasm was contagious. She left us too soon. Thank you to everyone for your love and support during this very difficult time. Visitation will take place on Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 2 p.m. to 5p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home (5610 Sherbrooke St. West, Montreal, QC). Funeral Service to take place on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Mountainside United Church (687 Roslyn Avenue, Westmount, QC H3Y 2V1) followed by Interment at Mount Royal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Kristin, may be made to the Montreal Gazette Christmas Fund, Animatch, the SPCA or a charity of your choice.

We were so blessed to have had Kristin live with us (in our guest loft by the ocean) for 7 months last year before she bought her house. Even though we only knew her for a year - she touched us. She had a light. A kindness that is rare. Our hearts break for you. We hope Charley will be okay.

Kristin had a beautiful way of making those around her feel like the most important people in the world. She had a light within her that brought everyone out of the shadows. She and I met years ago at Winnies. We shared many laughs and had countless meaningful conversations.
She introduced me to Bikram and years later I even did a workstudy at Walker. She would often drag me into the studio the morning after a night out or in the evening after day on the terrace, I only managed to make it through those classes because she was always beside me kicking serious sweaty butt. She was a constant inspiration.
Kristin was a woman with a powerful spirit and a beautiful heart. She had a major impact on my life and I will always remember her dearly. My deepest condolences to her family.

I first met kristin when she led my first bikram class at the walker studio aboyt 6 years ago. Over the past year I have enjoyed the community kristin created in my hometown halifax. She was such a kind and beautiful soul. I am so sorry to her family for this tragic loss.
