Kristine Glass Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 4, 2016.
Kristine Astrid Glass, 58, passed away October 3rd in Madison, CT. She was born in New Britain, CT to Astrid and Eugene Johnson. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, Madison. Krissy was employed by Aetna for many years before a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis forced her retirement. Even though she courageously battled the disease for over 25 years, Krissy remained an example of the type of person we all aspire to be given her unbending kindness and compassion for others. She was dearly loved and will forever be missed by her family and friends. Kristine is survived by two sisters, Barbara Farmer of Leawood, KS and Brenda Scrogin (husband, Colonel Tom Scrogin) of Niceville, FL; one brother, Ron Johnson of Leawood, KS; two nephews; one niece; two great-nephews; and three great-nieces. Krissy's family is deeply grateful to the nurses and staff of Watrous Nursing Center for their loving care over many years and to Seasons Hospice for their companionship and services. Memorial contributions may be made to Seasons Hospice at seasonsfoundation.org or mailed to Seasons Hospice, 1579 Straits Turnpike, Middlebury, CT 06762 in memory of Kristine. Private services are planned. Swan FH 825 Boston Post Rd. Madison, CT. 06443 are handling arrangements for the family. To sign the online guestbook please go to www.swanfuneralhomemadison.com

When visiting my Mom at Watrous over a period of several years, conversations with Kristine were always a bright spot. My condolences to her loving family. She will be very much missed by all who knew her - family, friends and staff.

I only knew Krissy as a resident of Watrous, but I was so happy to see photos of Krissy before her illness. When I visited my mom, Krissy was such a bright spot! She always had an idea where we would find Mom and she was interested in finding out what our plans were for the day. We would have great conversations and I could always tell that she had a wonderful past and a wonderful family. I was just so sad to hear that she passed away and my sincere condolences go out to all of her family. I know you all must miss her so much and my prayers are with you.

Dear Brenda, Tom, Barbara and Ron,

It seems like yesterday Kris, a long-legged, friendly, beautiful blonde and your loving mother Astrid welcomed me to the neighborhood. From that moment on we shared lots of laughter and a few tears.

The one thing which made both of their hearts happy were telephone calls and visits from all of you. They would tell me weeks in advance of your anticipated visits and it made all of the difference to their lives.

Each day Kris and your Mom were together was an adventure and they found ways to find joy from a ride along the beach road to lobster rolls at the Lobster Shack in Clinton. Their greatest joy was the company of each other.

Kris was fun-loving and kind. She had tremendous courage as she faced her declining health from MS. She truly was an inspiration. I will miss her and I will never forget her. I know in my heart she is in the arms of the angels and enjoying her ancestors and friends who went before her especially her parents who loved her dearly.

With love and heartfelt sympathy, Bobbi Dunham

Dear Brenda, Tom, Barbara and Ron,

It seems like yesterday Kristine, a very tall, long-legged beautiful blond introduced herself along with your mother Astrid and welcomed me to the neighborhood. From that moment on we shared lots of laughter and a few tears. Kris was a bright light with her fun loving ways. She and your Mom found joy and wonder in each day they shared together - from lobster rolls at the Lobster Shack in Clinton to a ride along the shore.

The greatest joy to both Kris and your Mom was having phone calls and visits from family. Each of you made the journey lighter. They waited for your arrival with happy hearts.

Kris was funny and beautiful. Kris had enormous courage in her battle with MS which slowly took from her the independence all of us often take for granted. She was an inspiration. I was blessed to know her and I will never forget this gracious woman who, along with each of you, found ways to make the best of her challenging life.

With love and heartfelt sympathy, Bobbi
