Coach Winnie, I miss you! I was telling my niece about you today and it brought back amazing memories that I truly wished she could have experienced with you. You were more than a coach to many of us, you were a leader and an inspiration, and for that I am so very grateful for having you in my life. Rest easy coach

I was sad to hear of Coach Winnie's death. She was funny, honest and a good interview. She loved her kids and had lots of knowledge to pass on. Wish I could have had one more season covering one of her teams...RIP and God Bless.

The loss of such a precious life is never easy, but know that wherever Coach Winnie walked, it was under the light of God. It was a privilege to have been able to get to know Coach for the little time my team mates and I had with her. She was more than just our coach, she was an adviser and inspirational woman. She made people feel like they could move mountains with her inspirational speeches, and that is one quality that i have yet to find in another. We love you Coach. Please accept my deepest condolences, and your family is my prayers.

My sincere condolences to Kristy/ Coach and her family. It was a pleasure to work with her at Raymondville. She was as passionate as she was country. She brought inspiration to all around her and will always be remembered as such.

I never thought I would need to find the words to say at your passing. All I can think of when I think of you are your smile and hear your laughter. You instilled a love of excellence within me; helping me to see hard work will pave the way. I will forever cherish the years we spent on the court and in the field. I love you Coach Winnie!

As a veteran teacher of 23 years but a brand new softball coach for the last 2 years, it was a privilege to know Coach Winnie. She always gave me positive feedback after our games and tips on what I could do to better my girls as players and myself as a coach. I'm not coaching this year but when she saw me after a game a few weeks ago she came up and said "I'm all sweaty but I'm going to give you a big old hug anyway. Now why aren't you out there with Erica (the head coach) this year?"
What an honor to have been recognized by this amazing lady. I will miss those moments.

It was with great sadness that I read a message last night from Coach Kelly Breazeale telling me of Kristie's death. I taught Kristie at East Texas State University; I taught in the Physical Education Department. She was a wonderful student, and an excellent athlete. I imagine she was an excellent coach/teacher as well. Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss.
