Krystal Anne Marie Stimac

Missoula - Krystal Anne Marie Stimac, age 51, died December 3, 2025 of complications from pneumonia in Missoula, Montana. She was the beloved daughter of Olaf and Marie Stimac, Sr and sweet baby sister of her siblings. She was surrounded by her family and friends as she was removed from life support as we helped her fulfill her wish of being an organ donor.

Krystal was born on October 12, 1974 in Great Falls, Montana, the youngest of eight children. Like her name describes she was the brilliant sparkle in our lives. She attended schools in Colstrip and Great Falls, graduating from CMRussell High School where she made friends that remained in her life until the end.

Krystal worked in retail store management most of her career, including at The Base Camp in Helena and Scheel's in Missoula.

Krystal never wanted to be defined by her job as she believed it was what was on the inside that mattered. In that regard she was a free spirit, a gentle soul, a wild child, an artist, a poet, a singer of songs. She loved the outdoors; the mountains and the ocean. She believed in kindness, and fairness, and goodness and was fearless in standing up for the rights of others.

Traveling internationally became a passion visiting most of central and southern Europe along with Nicaragua and Australia. She most recently returned from traveling solo for a month in Croatia making friends throughout the country.

When Krystal sang it was magic; music was part of her family DNA starting with singing along with her older siblings when she was small, then joining choirs in school, onto singing in a Missoula band, then karaoke with friends, finally coming full circle recently, singing again with her brothers and sisters on "fam jam" days.

Krystal was and always will be loved without measure by her family. Her bright light in our hearts is not dimmed by the tragedy of her early death. Know that she lived on her own terms; that she made a difference; and that she will be remembered, always and forever.

Krystal is survived by her siblings Cheryl Helmbrecht, Lonie Stimac, Olaf and Julie Stimac Jr, Jack and Jean Stimac, Ted and Candic Stimac, Max and Jaymie Stimac, and Jay Stimac; nieces and nephews Britty, Isabella, Matthew, Mark, and John Stimac, Theo Stimac and Reena McCarty, Anthony Zeigler and Staci Weigum, Steven and Desi Blake, and Dana Bastion; twelve great-nieces and nephews; Uncle and Aunts Frank and Lois Stimac, and Penny Stimac; and so many loving cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Olaf and Marie Stimac Sr; niece, Olivia Stimac; and brothers-in-law, Steven Zeigler Sr and Wayne Helmbrecht.

A Celebration of Krystal's life will be held in Great Falls at New Hope Lutheran Church Social Hall on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 11:00. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your local food bank or homeless shelter.
