Dr Kiszkiel was a well admired & respected colleague that will be deeply missed by all who worked with him & known him.
While we feel sadness at his departure, we also feel that he went through a lot of suffering prior to his passing away which is a merciful thing for him.
My condolences for the family & May he have comfort in his eternal abode.

Bydgoszcz, 18 lutego 2014 r.

Z niewypowiedzianym zalem i smutkiem przyjalem wiadomosc o smierci Krzysztofa. Odszedl wybitny lekarz, dzialacz polonijny, spolecznik, a nade wszystko czlowiek o wielkim sercu.
Ponoc nie ma ludzi niezastapionych, pomny jednak zaslug jakie zawdzieczamy Sp. Krzysztofowi, z cala stanowczoscia musze zadac klam temu twierdzeniu. Swiat wielu, wygladalby zupelnie inaczej, gdyby nie madrosc, dalekowzrocznosc i duchowa sila Krzysztofa. Dla Niego niemozliwe stawalo sie mozliwym. Swoja empatia, zyczliwoscia i zrozumieniem, z latwoscia zjednywal sobie najbardziej trudne i nieprzejednane charaktery. Widzial wiecej, czul wiecej, posiadal klucz do ludzkich umyslów i serc.
Pamietam nasze pierwsze spotkanie w Lidzbarku Welskim. Siedzial przede mna czlowiek o niezwykle przenikliwym spojrzeniu i ujmujacej osobowosci. To wówczas, zaczela sie pisac historia Muzeum Dyplomacji i Uchodzstwa Polskiego. To
dzieki Niemu, poznalem Wande Poznanska. To On byl równiez dobrym duchem spotkan z Pania Konsulowa. Stal sie iskra, która wzniecila plomien.
W tym roku obchodzimy 15-lecie Muzeum. Przez caly ten czas Krzysztof, aktywnie wspieral nasza dzialalnosc. Byl fundatorem stypendium naukowego dla uzdolnionej mlodziezy akademickiej. Wielokrotnie dawal dowody wielkiego zaangazowania w sprawy Muzeum, Uniwersytetu oraz Bydgoszczy.
Sp. Krzysztof Kiszkiel gleboko wierzyl w to, co robil. I chociaz zycie nie szczedzilo mu osobistych tragedii, o czym przypomina m.in. sala im. Marcina Kiszkiela w Muzeum Dyplomacji i Uchodzstwa Polskiego, pozostawal wierny swym idealom oraz wartosciom.
Kanadyjska Polonia poniosla ogromna strate. Odszedl wielki patriota i niezlomny oredownik sprawy polskiej. To, w jak wielu sferach bedzie Go nam brakowac, ukazuje jakim byl czlowiekiem. Zyl i pracowal dla wielu.

Dyrektor Muzeum Dyplomacji
i Uchodzstwa Polskiego

Dearest Catherine,

We have the fondest memories of your father (to us: 'Pan Krzysztof') and he will be missed dearly. I don't think we'll ever forget, stepping off that plane, being greeted by his warmth as cold, blustery winds surrounded us. The impact he had on our future is still present today. Our hearts and thoughts are with you. Take care, Natalia & Mike Bonikowski

To the Kiszkiel Family:
I remember Dr. Kiszkiel as I worked in the Laboratory office at the hospital where he was one of the pathologists in 1982. I always had such great respect for him because he was so down to earth and such a kind and gentle man. I am certain that he touched many lives in his very special way. I send you all my sincere sympathy in the loss of your beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle. May God bring you all strength at this very difficult and sad time. Sincerely, Anne Youngs - Cornwall
