Kyle Dahl Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 10, 2025.
Kyle John Dahl of Fountain Valley, CA passed just days before his 55th birthday on Monday, June 30, 2025. He was living in the home of his youth and passed peacefully while surrounded by close family members. Kyle was born in Inglewood, Los Angeles County, California on July 3, 1970, to Carma Rosa (John) and the late Devon Nilson Dahl. Kyle is survived by his wife and sons and all of his siblings: Mindee (Patrick) Gorman, Darian (Jacque), Shaun, Brenden (Christy) and Shane (Collette) Dahl.

Kyle served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Porto Alegre, Brazil from 1989-1991 where he became fluent in Portuguese and served the people of Brazil in many capacities.

He met and married his sweetheart, Stacie Christine Winkler in 1993. They were married for over 31 years at his passing. During their marriage they welcomed 5 sons into their family: Braden (Hannah), Matthew, Kaleb, Dylan and Nathaniel.

Kyle was perfectly prepared for his education and life-long career during his employment as an Emergency Medical Technician (Ambulance Driver) where he was stationed in the Leisure World Retirement Community in Seal Beach. CA. Kyle earned his Bachelors of Science from the University of Southern California from the Leonard Davis School of Gerontology (the study of aging) in 1997 and went on to get his Masters of Science in Gerontology at the same school in the following year in 1988.

During the Accelerated Masters program Kyle completed an accelerated internship in a Nursing Home as an Administrator in Training (AIT). He completed his hours, education, state and federal licensing exams and became a Certified Nursing Home Administrator in Long Beach, CA in 1999. In 1998, Kyle's preceptor departed, and he got thrown in the deep end to sink or swim at his first building even before he passed his state and federal exams to operate his first of many facilities.

Kyle loved photography and captured special memories for many students, teams, performers, dancers and, of course, family. He loved music and was happy to volunteer to DJ any special event. Kyle had a beautiful singing and speaking voice and loved to share stories and songs with his sons. He loved taking his sons shooting and trying out all kinds of new technology. He was an avid collector and enjoyed learning about new things and seeking out the best on offer. Kyle's greatest gift was his kindness. He helped many with training, job placement and was always willing to serve others.

Kyle was my friend. He was one of the best men I knew. We shared photography as a hobby together. I am saddened and grieved at his passing. The world is a lesser place now, but heaven is improved with his presence - Jon Briggs
