I'm getting ready to get married this summer and the thought of not having you there after growing up together is so hard to bear. I think about you often and about all the great times we had. I've been lucky in life to have not lost too many people close to me, but I feel the loss of you all the time. I miss you, buddy.

Hey Kyle, it's Ally.

Not a day goes by that I don't think of you <3.

Even though you were 19 when you passed away to live a fuller life with God, you made bonds and friendships that will be cherished forever.

You always made time for family and were a role model to the younger generations of Sebbens.

I remember you mostly for your sense of humour and always being up for a good laugh. Whenever you were in a room it seemed to brighten a little.

Whenever I think of you, I think of you on that motorcycle riding into the distance, smiling like you know a secret we all will discover in the end.

Love always,

Our deepest sympathy to the Donohoe
family.
We never knew Kyle, but when we heard the terrible news we were saddened.
Kyle is in heaven with the angels now, and Our dear Grandmother who passed away just a day before him.
We now believe she left us with a purpose.
We can only hope that God will bring comfort to his family, and friends, as time passes.
Kyle is with no doubt a shining star, glowing in all our hearts for he was a beacon in all those who knew him most.

Always in our prayers.

Hi Kyle,

Just wanted to let you know that your memory lives on in Europe.
I saw Snow Patrol in Berlin on the 9th of February and when they played
'Run' I thought of you. I know you would be proud that I finally left
Canada to do my exchange, because I have been talking about it for so long. I miss you.

Happy Birthday Kyle! I figured the best way to celebrate for you, was to do something we all knew you loved. Me, Evan and Keegan went out to Sunshine Village on friday and had a great day on the hill. You were our cheers to all our beers and tequila that day, and I know that everytime I'm blessed with a sunny day, your smile is whats lighting up our world.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Kyle would have been 20 today. He always eagerly anticipated his birthday, from childhood to finally turning 19 and being able to go to pubs in BC. Now we honor Kyle’s memory as we hold him in our hearts and remember that wonderful day 20 years ago when he ventured into the world and changed our lives forever. Happy Birthday, dear Kyle. We love you so much and miss you desperately. Love Mom and Dad.

Meghan

Happy Birthday Little Brother!
No words can express how much I miss you and how I wish you could be here to celebrate your special day. You always wanted Mom to make you the Oreo ice cream cake! And we would bug Dad about signing ONLY his name in our birthday cards (although he always made up for it by telling the candle story!)
I always thought long and hard about what I would give you as a present. It was important to me that my present to you would be something that really reflected how well I knew you and your likes. Over the years, as you grew older and lived further away, it became a lot harder to pick out that one perfect gift (hence the 18 gifts on your 18th birthday!)
Now that you are as far away from me in person as you will ever be, the meaning of "a birthday gift for Kyle" has changed. It has become something intangible. So it is in your spirit of spreading love, happiness, laughter, persistence and friendship that your birthday gift arises. In memory of you, Kyle, a website will be created that will seek to keep your wonderful memories, accomplishments and most of all friendships alive among the people who know and love you.
Happy Birthday Kyle, I love you!

(Kyle’s website will be posted here at a later date)

ALWAYS with the most amazing disposition, kindness, that million dollar smile and awesome sense of style, Kyle was definetely a very special person. His witty humor and carefree soul inspired many. Although it was a short time, I had the honor of knowing Kyle through High School, especially in grade 12 english when I was always excited to attend class with Kyle and Evan. I remember when he got his first bike. I thought it was the coolest thing ever but made fun of him for getting a purple one! He later stated that clearly I dont have a cool bike like he does! =) He has touched the hearts of SO many family, friends and loved ones and his memory will live on as we will always remember how Kyle lived for today like there was no tomorrow. My deepest and sincere condolescences and prayers are with the Donohoe family at this tragic time. We are all here to support and grieve while we try to heal the empty spot in our hearts. Rest in peace Kyle. Love and respect.

We are all still in shock over the news of Kyle. John and I sat down and explained to Kasen and Colby what happened to their cousin. He will be sadly missed by all and if there is anything we can do please do not hesitate to call. We love you and hope you can feel our arms aroung you.

Josie,

Across the miles, I only imagine as a mother, an aching feeling that envelopes you, having lost a deeply loved child so swiftly in a blur of time.

Embrace your rituals of good-bye; his pictures, his clothes, his accomplishments and the sounds of his music. Celebrate those precious threads that bind your memories and reflect the gift that Kyle was to you.

Keep close to you, all the honest messages of everyone who speaks to you in this book, as your sacrament.

It must be that with a child's death, a part of you dies also and goes with him. That has to be your comfort. Wherever he goes, you go also because you loved him. He will never be alone.

Dear Ian and Joe, I recieved your email yesterday and I couldn't believe it when I read the news. I only met Kyle once but I will never forget the cheeky wee six year old he was 12 years ago. The two things I remember most about him was that he loved ice hockey and was frustrated that he was too young to join a team, and that he didn't like to talk on the phone! I really regret that I didn't make it over to see you all before this tragedy happened, and that I didn't get to see my cousin grow into the great man he should have been. There is now a gap in our family that will never be replaced. I am thinking of you all in this time of tragedy. Lots of love, Cheryl

I am truly disheartened by the news of his loss and wish to extend my condolences to Cameron and family. My heart and prayers are with you.

With strength,

Heather

Meghan, Ian, and Jo,

Although I didn't have the chance to get to know Kyle very well in the short time Meg and I have been friends, it was obvious that he was a very special young man. He was so loved and respected by everyone who was lucky enough to meet him. Meghan, my thoughts are with you and your parents. Take care hun, I love you. *Rest in peace, Kyle*

My favorite thing about Kyle was his smile. He could always brighten my day with his laughter. I will never forget his Captain Underpants Halloween costume! To Kyle, you made high school unforgettable, and to have been at UBC with you was such a blessing. I'm gonna miss you like crazy! To the Donohoe family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Kyle was one of the nicest guys I have ever met. I have known him since ECS and have been lucky to have stayed friends with him throughout our school years. He was the kind of guy that everyone liked to be around and had the potential to accomplish anything that he wanted to do. He will be greatly missed by everyone who has known him and all of our memories of him will remain in our hearts forever.

Kyle was an acquaintance of mine... I first met him in my grade 11 English class, he probably had the highest average of the group and all I can remember is Kyle always volunteering the answer and always involving himself. Anyone who had ever met Kyle has only good things to say about him it seems. Kyle, your loss is simply unexplainable but my deepest prayers and thoughts go out to your friends and family. Rest in peace you!

I still can't believe that this horrible thing has happened, it's so surreal. I went to school with Kyle my whole life.I was lucky enough to travel with him to Montreal for a cultural exchange. I'll always remember the great memories. He was always an amazingly good person who will be missed forever and always will be in our hearts. Kyle and his family are in our prayers.
